Jacks Coastguard Restaurant

After visiting a selection of 4 & 5 star hotels we quickly got a taste of set packages where there was little or no room for tailoring. We proposed our ideas of how our dream day would run to the Jacks team any challenge set was seen more as an opportunity rather than an obstacle with immediate suggestions. It was evident that Jacks were willing to go the extra mile right from our first meeting. We really felt like we had final say on any aspect of the wedding rather than following suit from the previous wedding held. On the day the hard work, efforts and fine tuning done by the Jacks team was evident .The quality of the food is outstanding...To this day our guests are still telling us that our wedding was the best wedding they were ever at. Cant get any better than that really. Brian has a keen eye for professional class and smooth practicality when it comes to the logistics and planning of the day. Pauline (our inherited personal wedding planner at no extra cost) is extremely talented at the flow and delivery of a theme that is symmetrical, colour coordinated and is simply a perfectionist. The team combined is simply flawless. Jacks team are so friendly and welcoming. Any visit to the restaurant in the run up to the wedding we got the feeling that the team were simply tuned in and interested in the running of the day with no requirement for notes or reminders. When we got engaged, we did what most couples do - we went through the motions and looked at possible venues to hold our reception. I always knew that we would never find a venue like Jack's...with guests travelling from both home and abroad, we wanted that certain ' je ne sais quoi'. On the day itself, we didn't have to travel far-from Cromane Church to Cromane beach for the photos and straight to Jack's where we had that very important time for meeting our guests in the garden. We were able to relax, sip champagne and enjoy the fabulous selection of canapes in the glorious sunshine as J.P. serenaded us all. Local guests had a great sense of what was to come but it was the reaction of friends and family, who had not yet experienced what Jack's had to offer, that proved to us that we had been perfectly right in choosing Jack's to host our reception. Comments that stand out for me would be ' undiscovered gem', 'an exclusive venue', 'spectacular location', 'Michelin- star quality food', 'precision detailing', ' faultless service' and my personal favourite ' Best Wedding Ever'! We enjoyed every moment of our Wedding Day and as the sun was rising the following morning, we didn't have to walk home, (as planned), as Brian had organised for us to stay in one of their houses next door. My (new) husband is a native of Cromane so I have been visiting Jacks with him for more than 13 years now for socialising, dinner and many family occasions. We have consistently enjoyed great service and food in Jacks so it was an obvious choice when looking for somewhere for our AFTER WEDDING PARTY in December 2013. We were certainly not let down. From the initial planning right until the last person left that night Brian, Gráinne, Pauline and all the staff did their utmost to help us host a great party. The whole planning process was so easy and they knew exactly what we were looking for, so the after-party was one less thing we had to worry about when we were up to our neck in planning the wedding! The food was, as always, of an exceptionally high standard. Our guests enjoyed a buffet of hot chicken a la king and roast beef with a selection of salads. I saw plenty of people going back for seconds, and sometimes thirds! The band and DJ, organised by Jacks, provided plenty entertainment for our guests until the wee hours.
