The Schoolhouse Hotel

We had our wedding celebration here and it went fantastically well. Everything planned with the hotel was spot

We held our wedding reception in the Schoolhouse in September 2014. We were organising our wedding from Australia and from the first time we made contact with Therese (GM) we were met with professionalism, friendliness and prompt replies to our numerous emails and enquires. Therese made herself available to meet with us prior to our wedding day to select our wines and the evening before the wedding to finalise last minute details. She was fantastic at putting our nerves to ease – the day we checked in she announced “ no stress allowed” Our reception went extremely smoothly. The restaurant was decorated with flowers, petals on the tables and candles & looked beautiful. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food and loved how there were 3 choices for starters, mains and desserts - each one cooked to perfection (also, great feedback on the vegetarian option). The service was faultless and all the staff were extremely professional and at the same time so friendly. After dinner we moved to the bar area where we had a reserved area for cupcakes, tea and coffee – This was again, beautifully decorated with superb ambiance. If you are thinking about holding your wedding at the Schoolhouse … DO IT! We would recommend the schoolhouse hotel for a wedding, dinner, or just to pop in for a drink - nothing is too much hassle, the hotel, restaurant and bar area have such a great atmosphere. The location is superb, right by a canal, walking distance to city, looks great in wedding pics, great staff.. what more do you need. Therese and ALL staff – Thank you so much for making our day so enjoyable and stress free we will definitely be back for a drink when we are next in Dublin. Andrew & Libby
