Having had our wedding reception here in Fernhill House in June was definitely the best decision we made. From the very first meeting with Ann the coordinator we knew it was a special venue. We wanted a venue that was homely and family run and we got this in abundance in Fernhill. We got married in Fernhill on May 11th this year, and we honestly couldn't be happier with our choice of venue. We had our entire celebration in Fernhill (night before with my parents, daughter and bridesmaids, ceremony, drinks reception, meal and party!). From start to finish, the process was made easy and enjoyable. We honestly didnt have to worry about a single thing. Wedding Coordinator Ann was exceptional. On the ball, always on the other end of the phone and so calm - she was an absolutely pleasure to deal with. The wider O'Neill family, all of whom were involved on the day, were so very welcoming and accommodating, no request was too much for them. Despite waking up to horrendous weather, i think the O'Neill's had a direct line to the weather gods, as an hour before our ceremony the clouds parted and we had the best afternoon enjoying the sun and the garden (along with the cocktails and canapes). We had our wedding reception in the Fernhill House Hotel on Friday 18th May 2018. From the time we enquired, to viewing the hotel, to the day itself we could not have been happier with our venue choice. The wedding coordinator, Ann was so prompt to reply to all my email queries (there were lots!) and was an assured presence on the day. Everyone is still talking about the marquee & gardens for our drinks reception and the meal was excellent from start to finish.

We were lucky enough to be able to have held our wedding at Fernhill House on 25th May 2018. It was without doubt the best choice we could have made. Both our ceremony and reception were held at the hotel and everything happened so seamlessly. Ann our wedding coordinator was so lovely, she was super calm and organized and had a great sense of humour, she was such a pleasure to deal with throughout the planning of our wedding. Our day at Fernhill was made to feel so relaxed by the team there. So many of our guests have said they have never experienced such friendly and obliging staff and we both throughly agree. We could not complete this review without talking about how amazing the food was, everyone told us how great it was and lots of our guests said it was the best wedding meal they have had. We had a number of guests with specific dietary requirements and they told us they had never experienced so much food choice at a wedding before. We loved our day at Fernhill House Hotel, our wedding was so relaxed and fun and Ann and all the staff there helped create that feeling. As we both live in the UK but wished to get married in Ireland, it was an initial concern that organising a wedding from another country would be difficult. From the moment we first met with Neil and the team all our concerns were out to rest. On our first visit to Fernhill during our research stage of wedding planing we were instantly blown away by the venue, the house itself is a magnificent building of which the architecture is fully complemented by the view. As you look out on the amazing scenery you will be met with the exceptional garden that lies down the hill at the front of the house. Ths initial viewing was enough to convince us to choose Fernhill House as our first choice, what we were not expecting was the standard of service from the owners and staff. During the weekend of the wedding both Neil and Ann really supported and guided us throughout; even whilst on the Friday before the big they were attending to another wedding - quite another level of multitasking. On the day of the wedding, everything went off without hitch thanks to Neil and Ann's quick thinking; accomadating unannounced guests last minute and even removing make up stains from my collar in time for photos - they really went above and beyond! All guests were blown away by the food and it became a talking point of the day, actually the weekend as we had a second day's celebrating on the Sunday. All dietary needs were catered for without any fuss or compromise in quality or choice. We had our wedding here on the 8th June 2018 and wow was it amazing from the day we booked it everything was just brilliant. The grounds, the staff, the O’Neill family are just amazing. We had the best day ever and even all our guests said it was the best wedding they were ever at!! The food is just amazing it’s 5star. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem. From our very first trip to suss out the venue, until our last "dram" in the resident's bar at the end of our special day, we could not have been happier with our choice of venue. Due to some major but unpredictable family events, some changes had to be made at the last minute and Neil and Ann were very understanding and obliging. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout. Examples include some fussy eating guests being allowed to tinker with the menu, while others were served their meal at a later time when children's bedtimes got in the way of the meal. All made more impressive by the fact that 200+ guests were served delicious meals in an incredibly timely manner. The hotel was decorated beautifully and whenever we asked to add our own little touches, whether it was to the décor, the drinks reception, the layout of the room or bringing a bagpiper into the reception, we were never met with any opposition. We were allowed to make it a very personal wedding. Half of our wedding party were travelling from Scotland and the other half were locals from West Cork. The comments from further afield were along the lines of "the best wedding reception we have attended" and "Never had nicer food at a wedding" while the ones from the locals said "why would anyone pick anywhere other than Fernhill? The planning process was seamless and relaxed and the attention to detail was outstanding. We were able to use moposa also which was so helpful.
