2/5 review

Wedding review. I will start off by saying that the day of the wedding the staff themselves were fantastic and we had such a special day but thats where the positives finish Leading up to the wedding we had numerous guests contact us because reception either refused to take a booking because a specific person was not there to take their booking. They were quoted a price and told that they would need to confirm and then when called to confirm they were unable to do so and then the price went up. Multiple people were told they would be called back but that never happened. We had 10% of members call/text us to get them to sort it out. We were quoted a midweek rate for the wedding by the wedding coordinator at the time. Leading into the wedding we had a meeting with our wedding coordinator who claimed we signed it for a saturday rate (wedding was on a Thursday). This meant we didn't meet their minimum guests and would be paying for the extra. Some guests we had invited to the afters we now asked to the meal. On review of the contracts that evening it was not the case, the contract was just generic and mentioned no minimum numbers. The day before the wedding I had booked for 6 players to play golf (4 play - 2 we were just letting put playing a scramble but still paid for them). No players behind us and a bunch of kids about 4 holes ahead of us with a slow rate of play. Enter faithleggs golf marshal who started following us around and aggressively insisting we split the groups into 4/2 or 3/3. His manner was intimidating, aggressive and was driving around in a golf cart. This became more aggressive as the round went on, was stopping traffic (theres a road parallel to the course) in a bid to put pressure on us. At around hole 9 he suddenly disappears only to be come driving up to us again hole 10 and start swearing at us. At this stage we rang the hotel basically to tell them their staff member was harassing us (he had told us he would follow us around all 18 holes) We were told the manager would meet us on the course. Never showed up and after 30 minutes of waiting we decided to just head back to the hotel giving up on our round of golf. Found the manager who claimed that this lad was not a staff member had stolen a buggy with golf marshall on it and decided to harass us. We asked for an update as the guy was meant to be a member. Sure enough the day of the wedding he was out playing golf. Definitely something you want the day before your wedding. I had asked the manager for an update. Didn't get one. Emailed him for an update and the response told me nothing just that there was a meeting with the member. In summary if I could go back to when we could pick the venue, I would not choose here. We chose faithlegg because its nearby, had a sterling reputation and we were hoping that we could use the venue as an anniversary spot to enjoy a meal on the odd special occasion. Potentially had been considering joining the golf club there as well. I do hope that any who choose here have the most
