The food was exquisite (thank you Will for being so accommodating, particularly with multiple allergies, our guest was super impressed and grateful), Josh was super helpful from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble, especially when we had last minute drop outs, the waiting staff were friendly and professional. We'd been to see a lot of venues before the Hovels was suggested to us and from the moment we saw it we knew that it would be the place for us. We knew we wanted a smallish wedding and the atmosphere in the Hovels was perfect. The glass really gives the room a light, airy feel even on a cloudy day. They have stretch tent outside which is perfect for lovely evenings and there are a lot of other extra things that they can do to really make the space look beautiful. Our experience getting married at The Hovels was everything we could have ever wanted. We did all our organising with Josh who is absolutely incredible. We had ‘stages’ of planning where we narrowed down food & drink options (canapés, meals, evening food, reception drinks, table drinks, options to serve at the bar), which enabled us to gradually arrive at the right combinations for us. The food is absolutely beautiful and it’s so special that most of it is sourced from the estate. Our wedding was May, and a gorgeous day- the venue allowed our ‘minimal’ look/ approach, and the natural beauty of the venue and grounds to really shine. We used the stretch tent which added some shade and a nice atmospheric touch, as well as The Hovels own furniture. We didn’t need to add much at all! We chose to hire a crazy golf course which worked well there. We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding- setting up the day before and the whole process was just so fun with Josh & the team. He was in touch regularly with ideas and thoughts based on what we’d discussed. The menu tasting is also a lovely, really special experience! We also stayed at Harewood Holidays which was really special, again Felicity and the team were so helpful with our cottage bookings and changing these/ advising us as required about best combinations and options to suit our needs. It made a really special place to get ready for the wedding, and to spend time there afterwards!
