In a time that is of course fraught with planning and details etc. James and the team really took the stress out of many elements, making the whole process all the easier. Our wedding at Woolas Barn was absolutely perfect, and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. The venue itself is a stunning setting – rustic, full of character, and the perfect balance of relaxed and fun while still feeling special for such an important occasion. One of the biggest advantages was having exclusive use of the venue for the entire weekend, which allowed us to spend much more quality time with our family and friends and made the whole celebration feel far less rushed than a traditional one-day wedding. Emily K, our wedding planner, was fantastic from start to finish. She was organised, calm, incredibly helpful, and always on hand to answer questions or offer advice. Having her involved was worth every penny and made the planning process and wedding weekend run seamlessly. The in-house catering was another real highlight. We've attended a lot of weddings over the years, and the food at Woolas Barn was genuinely some of the best wedding food we've ever had. James & the whole team at Woolas Barn are phenomenal. Woolas Barn is an incredible venue! From the moment we started searching for venues online we came across Woolas Barn and fell in love with this rustic venue. We attended an in person open day and loved every aspect of it, James was great at answering all of our questions, was there through every step and made sure our day went exactly how we planned. The ceremony room and breakfast room were perfect for a medium sized wedding, an intimate space with gorgeous rustic charm. The venue was perfect inside and out, so peaceful in a beautiful setting with everything you could ever need at the venue. There are so many barn-type venues in the area and, after looking round dozens, we weren’t sure we were going to find one that ticked all our boxes. We stumbled across Woolas by accident - and oh my gosh are we glad we did. The venue itself is simply beautiful, with plenty of rustic charm and natural light. Exactly what we wanted. We booked Woolas Barn more than two years before our wedding after a viewing with James. From the very beginning, he was incredibly helpful and there was absolutely no pressure to book on the spot. He encouraged us to take our time and think about it. However, we fell in love with Woolas from the moment we arrived. One of the biggest selling points for us was that they only host one wedding per week. This meant we had plenty of time to set up the day before and collect everything afterwards, which took away so much stress and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. We didn’t know anyone who had previously got married at Woolas, so attending open days and bringing our parents to view the venue was really important to us. James and the team were always accommodating and welcoming throughout the entire process. On the day itself, the venue received countless compliments from our guests, who loved the intimate, relaxed atmosphere. In terms of value, Woolas offers excellent pricing for such a beautiful venue. You pay a venue hire fee, with the option to add a wedding coordinator and stylist, while catering is priced separately. I don't even know how to put into words how amazing James and his team were but I'll give it a good go Nothing was ever too much. James was super responsive and really laid back with anything we asked for. James himself is really down-to-earth and so easy to get on with. He's really understanding and just genuinely lovely. The onsite caterers, Fusion, also made our day flawless. Everyone involved made us feel like VIPs from start to finish. Even the tasting was incredible. It was intimate, romantic and nothing was too much trouble. One of the team helped take pictures of our guests with our guestbook camera and stuck them in (without us even asking), they helped with timings, light candles, turn on any USB lights and were just incredible. We got married at Woolas Barn on 16th May 2026 and it was without doubt the best day of our lives. Woolas was the first of three venues we looked at, and we knew pretty much straightaway it was the one for us. As the daughter of a farmer, we loved how authentic and rustic it was, as opposed to purpose-built wedding barns, and the fact they only hold one wedding a week, for a select period of the year, made it feel more personal and less like you are on a wedding conveyer belt. From day one, James encouraged us to use Woolas as a blank canvas - with the exception of the in-house caterers, we could bring in whichever vendors we wanted and do whatever we wanted with the place, e.g. putting specific beers on tap behind the bar. As for Fusion, the in-house caterers, WOW. We have lost count of the number of guests who have told us it was the best wedding food they have ever had. We loved the process of selecting our menu. We chose the Asado Feast for our main course, but were able to ask for our own starters and desserts, which Charlie the head chef went away and created his own, incredible versions of. It meant we were able to put our own little touches on everything. On the day of the wedding, our guests loved the personalised service of the Fusion team, including the waiting staff knowing their names as they put their plates down, while it was absolutely no issue for Fusion to include a lit candle on the dessert of a guest whose birthday it was. Finally, a special mention for the incredible Emily, our wedding planner. Her ideas, advice and gorgeous little touches made planning our wedding far easier than we ever expected. We had the most perfect wedding day at Woolas Barn on 4th April. When we went to the open day in January 2025, we knew instantly it was the venue for us! It is the perfect combination of modern and rustic. James (the owner) showed us around and we loved the informal and relaxed feel that he described. James’s communication was excellent for the next 15 months. When it came to setting up the day before, James and the team at Fusion Events were so helpful. Jules and Charlotte from Fusion looked after us on our wedding day and nothing was too much trouble! We also want to give a special mention to Chloe, who was just amazing!!! Woolas Barn is a spectacular venue. It is well looked after and maintained. One of the huge pull factors for us was just the sheer number of individual spaces around the venue - the mezzanine floor has two smaller rooms, which we used for more chill activities away from the dance floor, the ceremony room is the perfect size for crazy golf, the dining area is just stunning and the outdoor area provides so many opportunities for more fun with the fire pit and grass verges, perfect for garden games or similar. We were also particularly impressed with how accommodating the venue were with what we wanted to do. There was no pushiness with regards to choosing certain suppliers - it was all down to us and James was happy to make anything we wanted to do work. In terms of value for money, Woolas is spectacular. During our initial venue exploration phase, we looked at several venues - many of whom were significantly more expensive than Woolas, however they did not provide nearly as much space, opportunity or beauty as Woolas Barn did. We can only give a huge thank you to all of the staff at Woolas, but especially to James & family, EmilyKWeddings and all of our suppliers that made the day as phenomenal as it was.
