The deals running are really cheap but £80 to add on a child is a little steep! Our wedding day ran smoothly and was a stunning day perfectly executed. The weddings team are outstanding and nothing was too much for them, they are only bound by the venues strict rules (no alcohol to be brought in) The food was outstanding and was served promptly, portions were more than adequate and everybody enjoyed it! drinks are on the pricier side and only 2 bar staff were provided for our day which was not enough for the 100 guests who attended. We had our wedding here on the 7th April 2019. The hotel was absolutely brilliant. They are still having building work on the new hotel, but that didn't detract from our day. We had our ceremony in the Bowden Suite and wedding breakfast and evening disco in the Ballroom. From the very start where we first met with Michelle the wedding and events manager enquiring about wedding packages and availability Van Dyk couldn't have been more attentive! This continued throughout our future meetings and visits to the open evenings and wedding fares Van Dyk offer to the public. Michelle and her team were organised, friendly, helpful and the attention to detail was impeccable. It really shows how much the team love what they do! We saw Michelle as our friend and enjoyed getting to know her. The day ran smoothly and on time, nothing was rushed. The team serving food and drink were friendly and professional, the room was decorated to perfection and the food was simply delicious. Our guests commented on the quality of the food to us!! We could not fault anything about the day! The well kept grounds provided lovely areas for photographs, even though the weather was not so much on our side but did brighten up in the early afternoon! We also had some lovely photographs captured within the hotel too. We stayed the night in the honeymoon suite which was well kept and luxurious, our parents and close family members stayed at the hotel too and said that the rooms were lovely as too was the breakfast! Me and my hubby had our wedding reception here on 1 June 2013 and were not disappointed! From the very start when we were merely enquiring about our booking Natalie (wedding coordinator) couldn't have been more attentive! This continued right up until the actual day- very impressed! She was organised, friendly and had a great attention for detail. The day ran smoothly and on time. The girls serving cocktails and food were friendly and professional, the room was decorated to perfection, the food-oh my goodness where do I start...AMAZING...especially the duck starter, beef and Yorkshire puddings-all our guests commented on the quality of the food to us!! We could not fault anything about the day! Our parents and a few other guests stayed at the hotel and said that the rooms were lovely as too was the breakfast! We originally picked Hotel Van Dyk due to on-line recommendations and the fact they only hold one wedding per day. We did not want our day to feel part of a production line. I knew we made the right choice after our first meeting with Angela & Natalie. From the very start they were professional & courteous, not raising an eyebrow with some of the wacky things I wanted. We had a taster meal that helped us decide our wedding breakfast. The day itself went perfect, run in a professional & friendly manor. The room for the ceremony was just stunning, we were married in the ballroom. They helped source tablecloths to match my colour scheme to make sure it was just as i wanted it. The wedding breakfast itself was divine, every guest commented on the quality. No cold food, they did well with serving 65 guests. The day flowed perfect we had a evening buffet for 150 & a dessert buffet. Again the food was gorgeous! Oh we opted for bottles of grolsch as welcome drinks as I thought that's what my guests would prefer these were also followed by the most tasty canapés ever! The bridle suite is very lush! Even the breakfast next day was gorgeous! Every detail was perfect & what we wanted. I would highly recommend this hotel as a wedding venue to anyone. We will be returning for both meals and hopefully the odd night stay! Thank you all for the hard work!
