Steeped in history but fitted with luxurious modern amenities, it is a spectacular setting for a one-of-a-kind wedding celebration. Facilities and Capacity The Hurt Arms has a variety of indoor and outdoor event spaces. This paved area is furnished with oyster grey tables, chairs, and ornate lanterns, providing a tranquil retreat for you and your guests. Towering oak trees cloak the property, protecting the privacy of your special occasion. For your reception, you can make your way back to the Tollgate Suite for an evening of food and entertainment. We were originally due to get married in 2020, but due to the pandemic we had to postpone several times. Despite all the uncertainty, the team were incredibly supportive throughout the whole process. We finally got married in 2021, and we honestly couldn’t

We got married at The Hurt Arms in October 2021 and had a brilliant day from start to finish. The venue itself is beautiful, with a great mix of character and modern style, and it created the perfect atmosphere for both our ceremony and reception. Everything ran smoothly on the day, the food was excellent and tailored to what we wanted, and our guests still talk about how lovely it was. Brandon and Emily in particular were incredibly helpful throughout - supportive, organised and reassuring in the lead-up, and fantastic on the day itself. We couldn’t have asked for more and would absolutely recommend it

We honestly cannot say enough good things about The Hurt Arms as a venue and also the staff. From the moment we arrived to the very last song of the night, everything was pure magic. The space itself is stunning—beautiful, warm, and effortlessly elegant—but what truly sets it apart is how it felt. It felt like perfect, totally our style, a celebration and like one long unforgettable moment. The staff went above and beyond in every possible way, especially with us trying to plan through COVID and us having to postpone for a whole year! They were attentive without ever being intrusive, calm under pressure, and genuinely excited for us. Every detail was handled with such care that we were able to fully relax and soak in every second of our day—something we’ll always be grateful for. All the recommendations for suppliers were fantastic. And not to forget to mention all the amazing backdrops for unforgettable photos! And the guests… wow. We’re still hearing about it. Friends and family are still telling us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to—how incredible the atmosphere was, how smoothly everything flowed, how magical the entire day felt from start to finish. Multiple people told us they didn’t want it to end. If you’re looking for a venue that delivers beauty, professionalism, warmth, and an unforgettable experience—not just for you, but for every single guest—this is it. Choosing this venue was one of the best decisions we made, and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Truly unforgettable. We

We had the most amazing wedding breakfast and reception at The Hurt Arms. One of the first weddings when the venue had been newly renovated and the function room added. We got married in church. The wedding team couldn’t do enough for us. From enquiring about booking, to Breakfast the morning after our wedding. Whenever we emailed or phoned to talk about the wedding and details, someone was always on hand to answer immediately. Nothing was too much trouble. The day flowed so smoothly and it made it easy for us to enjoy it with our family and friends. We even got to make tweaks to the wedding breakfast menu to suit us and our tastes. We had a lovely warm/cold sit down buffet and then a bbq for the evening. They gave us some fantastic deals and discounts for bei

Myself and my wife got married here back in July 2021. From the moment we enquired right through to our wedding day, the communication and support was first class. Everything was seamless. We were still in the throws of covid meaning masks were still having to be worn and no big gatherings indoors were allowed. Despite this, our day was still made so special

We got married at The Hurt Arms in 2022 and couldn't have asked for a better experience or a more wonderful wedding day! Organising our day was completely stress free. The team were easy to communicate with and our wedding coordinator was very helpful and answered emails promptly. Everything ran smoothly on the day and we could relax and enjoy our wedding knowing everything was taken care of. The venue is beautiful, both indoors and out. It had a rustic feel to it which we loved. Everyone really enjoyed the food, especially the hog roast in the evening. The price was incredibly reasonable for the quality and service we receive

What a fabulous day! Everything from booking, to the day was exceptionally well organised. There were a range of packages to choose from (varying in prices, with deals alongside). Our wedding coordinator and all other staff on the day were very professional and went above and beyond for us and our guests. The meal was delicious

We had a Covid wedding at the Hurt Arms in December 2020. We were allowed 15 people present ourselves included and we would not change a thing about the day. We had the venue decorated by Gemma White Weddings and Events which were recommended by the venue at one of their open days and she fulfilled the look we were going for along with our florist. The organising and planning was great and helped us step by step with exactly what we wanted. We also planned a 1 year anniversary party for the wedding reception a year later at The Hurt Arms as we were under Covid restrictions on the day its self. After the ceremony we went to the Belper River Gardens for some more photos with our photographer which were great and a couple minutes away by

We held our wedding reception at the Hurt Arms back in July 2021 as we were just coming out of lock down. Despite a few restrictions that were still in place, we were lucky enough to hold the event outside due to the weather being stunning. Even our live band was able to play outside and the Hurt Arms catered a delicious hog roast! The staff at the Hurt Arms were truly amazing and Mia was the most incredible co-ordinator, ensuring that everything was perfect on the day and I didn't need to worry about a thing. We both felt in such good h

We got married at The Hurt Arms in August 2023. We were over the moon with the overall service from the start of the planning to the wedding day. Biggest positives were the value for money for what we got we were thrilled! The food was absolutely amazing. The venue was so flexible with us and let us have what we wanted and made sure they made everything work for us. The staff on the day were so attentive, and they did so many things in the background to make our day run smoothly. The venue was exactly what we wanted for o

We were so happy with our choice of The Hurt Arms as our wedding venue. We honestly couldn't have asked for anything more, from the initial meeting with our wedding coordinator right up until the big day itself. We were given complete free reign over designing our day, and everything turned out perfectly. The value for money at this venue is insane, and we instantly fell in love with the unique look of the venue. We had the most perfect day and a huge thanks to

The Hurt Arms was the first and only wedding venue we visited - we fell in love immediately. Let’s talk money first. We had a modest budget of £10k for EVERYTHING, and our day at The Hurt Arms fit comfortably within that. They were very transparent about pricing with all of their brochures stating options and prices with no hidden extras and also no pressure to spend more with them. The planning and booking process was incredibly easy and stress-free. Even with a change of wedding co-ordinator, they answered every panicked and stressy email quickly and professionally. We had plenty of meetings and contact throughout the year of our planning. The day went completely to plan. From the minute I got out of the car, my wedding co-ordinator was there and she made she everything went smoothly. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. The food. Can we just!!! Best food I’ve ever had at a wedding if I do say so myself! It’s such a beautiful incredible wedding venue

We got married at The Hurt Arms back in 2018 and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Everything was just perfect from start to finish. The size of the room was spot on — it felt so cosy and everyone was together the whole time, which made for such a lovely atmosphere. The team were amazing and made sure the whole day ran smoothly. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, they had everything completely under control. The food was incredible too — so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was! We genuinely wouldn’t have changed a single thing. It was everything we hoped

We had our Wedding Reception at The Hurt Arms in September 2019. After looking at around 4-5 other places once we’d seen the Hurt Arms there was only one choice. We had the most incredible night! We chose the BBQ for food and an Ice Cream Cart for afters and everything was absolutely delicious. The team at The Hurt Arms were incredible and made the night go so smoothly. The private outdoor area was gorgeous and we were SO blessed with the weather. We stayed overnight in the Honeymoon Suite which was just beautiful. The cherry on top of the cake for us had to be t
