We LOVED this place! Couldn't recommend it enough! From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty, bags take out of your car and taken to your room, we opted for champagne and chocolates on arrival, the staff were pleasant and accomodating when we needed extra supplies like more teabags etc. The room was lovely and the bathroom was gorgeous. The attached spa was great and there are designated children hours which we appreciated when we wanted to go during adult only times. Swinton is the perfect wedding venue and they hosted a fairy-tale wedding for ourselves in May 2022. Everything was perfect, the staff were helpful and attentive, the food was amazing and enjoyed by all our guests, and the DJ hired by the venue was brilliant. From the moment we went to visit to enquire the staff were extremely helpful, with the events manager Johanna keeping in regular contact and helping us rearrange when Covid hit. The staff were extremely flexible, adjusting things to make everything perfect for our day, including allowing our dog to be the ring bearer. The day ran so smoothly and this is a massive testimony to the staff who were so organised and supportive and made our day perfect. All the vendors recommended were extremely professional. I found Swinton Estate via an internet search and fell in love with the hotel immediately. I had been looking for a venue offering an elopement package and the "Just For Two" package was incredibly good value. The hotel looked spectacular with all its Christmas trees and decorations. The estate is beautiful and we enjoyed a long walk to look around the lakes, the hundreds of deer and the Birds Of Prey centre. There are so many locations for wonderful wedding photographs. The food was great, with a large varied food and drinks menu in The Terrace restaurant. The staff were very friendly, particularly Gay who served us for breakfast each day and remembered what we liked to order - she even waved us off when we checked out. The spa, pool and treatment rooms were clean and luxurious, I would recommend a massage. The rooms are all uniquely different (even having Christmas wreaths on the bedroom doors), however they all share one thing...HEAT! For people like me, who are always cold, this is perfect. It is easily sorted however, by opening some windows and switching off the radiators. Rosie and Johanna on the events team were super helpful with arranging dates and creating our perfect day. Unfortunately we arrived late to check in, however Rosie managed to move back our couples massage so we could still visit the spa. We were greeted with a glass of fizz and our bags were taken to our room. The hotel is obviously operating differently due to the COVID pandemic, although everywhere felt clean, the staff all wore masks and even the reception desk had a plastic barrier around it. The social distancing actually enhanced our wedding as we were able to have our ceremony in the slightly larger Panelled Room and our wedding breakfast in the Private Dining Room. The hotel allowed us to bring in our own decor for the wedding but did provide us with chair covers and a sound system. There were so many little personal touches, little chocolates and biscuits in the bedrooms and even a Christmas Welcome card! Where do we start? After a long search for a wedding venue in the UK and were nearly about to give it all up, we finally found one - Swinton Park - the most amazing, beautiful and perfect venue for our wedding weekend. First of all, the castle is absolutely stunning and is surrounded by beautiful lush nature and wild deer like it came straight out of a fairytale. Everything in the interior is just as gorgeous, the dining room, hallway, drawing room, library, etc., and the accommodation rooms are so unique, luxurious, spacious and well kept. The brand new country club and spa just adds to it all. We could write for ages about how amazing Swinton Park is... However, our wedding day wouldn’t have been so perfect if it wasn’t for their amazing staff - every single person was so professional, helpful, warm and welcoming, and did absolutely everything to make sure everything was perfect. "Swinton Swinton Swinton! Where do we start from? I am not a girly bride and I definitely hadn't dreamt of my wedding day since I was a child. The only thing Deji & I knew we wanted for our wedding was for it to be fun and filled with love with no boundaries. From my first interaction with Sasha, I was won over by her enthusiasm, warmth and understanding (before we even visited Swinton in person!). The kindness, warm welcome and care we got from the whole team at Swinton was no different. From our first visit till the actual wedding weekend when their castle was taken over by our huge wedding party, their attitude to consistently exceed our expectations never changed. It would be an injustice not to state the impact they made on our weekend. From the cookery classes, clay pigeon shooting, presentation by Lord Swinton and hearty BBQ the night before to the flawless service during our wedding reception, our wedding was nothing short of epic & we had a blast! I can’t thank you and your wonderful staff enough for making Rachael and Chris’s wedding this weekend such a success, and to you personally for the efforts you made to reassure Rachael and deal so well with the issues she raised. Everyone had a wonderful time, Swinton Park has made many new fans from guests who have not been before, with many saying they would like to return. Every member of staff was so polite and helpful, the rooms were wonderful (Rachael loved the York Suite - such a good upgrade!) and the food was delicious. Thank you for allowing the younger members of the party to stay up late dancing in the Library, I hope they didn’t disturb any guests. This was our 4th visit to Swinton and we look forward to returning when your new Spa is open - can’t wait!
