We had the most wonderful wedding at St Osyth Priory, we decided to elope just us and our two children, with the wedding planners as our witnesses. After looking at so many elopement venues, we found the priory and just fell in love with its stunning grounds, buildings and the most gorgeous little chapel that reminded us of something out of the Mama Mia movie! We stayed in South Lodge, the night before and night of the wedding which was absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean with the added bonus of a hot tub on the roof! We chose to get married at 12pm so we had the rest of the day to enjoy the sun terrace. After the ceremony and photos, we had a lovely afternoon tea made for us in the secluded garden's we were able to choose from a wide selection of food options, there was SO much food! We had a bottle of chilled bubbly, the children had juice; everything was presented beautifully with the addition of music playing from a speaker in the background tasteful table decorations provided by the venue and pretty bone china. It was like an Alice in wonderland tea party which was lovely for the four of us. It’s a lovely venue feels like the grandeur of a bigger wedding but without all the people around

I cannot recommend St Osyth Priory enough. From start to finish, our whole wedding journey has been nothing short of amazing and I cannot thank Livi & the staff enough for coordinating what was the best day ever! From the stunning venue to the beautiful food. Nothing was a problem. Our day went so smoothly. Our guest couldn’t quite believe we was able to pull of such a beautiful day and it was all thanks to Livi and the team

Oh where to start?! Livi was amazing, you couldn’t ask for more from a head of events. From the first meeting, she was engaged in our wedding in a way that we hadn’t seen from other venues. She was always a phone call or email away, sorted any worries on our side, and ran the smoothest wedding I’ve ever been to! The venue speaks for itself, but it’s even better in person with the whole venue to yourselves, the secret rose gardens and beautiful chapel, to the deer behind the great windows and the incredible food! It was a true dream of a venue. We’re still getting compliments from all the guests saying Google doesn’t do it justice. We cannot compliment and thank the team a

We celebrated our wedding in June 2026 at this stunning venue, and it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we first viewed until the very last guest departed, every detail was handled with professionalism, warmth, and care. The facilities are outstanding! From the Bridal room (we used the whistle jacket room) to the Grooms room (where many games of pool were played), to the main halls where the ceremony was located and the bar was always busy with guests. The grounds are breathtaking, offering beautiful, well-maintained spaces that perfectly cater for both the ceremony and reception. The venue itself is elegant and versatile, creating a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day and provided the perfect backdrop for photographs What truly sets this venue apart is the incredible staff. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring everything ran smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, and their calm, professional approach allowed us to relax and enjoy every moment - despite being the hottest day so far in 2026! We cannot thank our wedding coordinator Livi enough for making our special day absolutely perfect. Her communication was excellent throughout the entire planning process, ensuring that nothing was overlooked and that we felt completely supported every step of the way. On the day, she handled everything seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing us, our family, and our guests to relax and enjoy every moment without any stress. The chef and catering team deserve special recognition. The food was absolutely exceptional—beautifully presented, full of flavour, and consistently praised by our guests. From the canapés through to the evening meal, every dish was of the highest quality. The on-site accommodation was equally impressive, giving a vast array of room sizes to suit the party size. The rooms were comfortable, stylish, and immaculately maintained, providing the perfect place for us and our guests to unwind after the celebrations. We cannot recommend St Osyth Priory highly enough. If you're looking for a wedding venue with outstanding facilities, exceptional food, beautiful accommodation, stunning grounds, and a team that genuinely cares about

From the moment we saw St Osyth Priory, we fell in love with it. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue, genuinely stunning, with countless indoor and outdoor spots for photos. Our photographer kept commenting on what an incredible backdrop it made throughout the shoot, and our guests gave us the utmost compliments about the venue too. Livi, our lead wedding coordinator, was fantastic from our very first viewing right through to the day itself and the morning after. We had regular catch-up meetings with her throughout the whole planning process, and she was always available for any queries we had. She helped us plan every detail and was brilliant at accommodating our specific requests, including doing things in a particular order to fit our cultural traditions, nothing felt like too much to ask. Even on the wedding day itself, Livi was there making sure everything ran smoothly. We stayed on site the night before the wedding, which made the whole day run so smoothly. The bride and groom had separate suites to get ready in. The Rochford Suite was beautiful and spacious for the bride and bridesmaids, while Darcy West was equally well-kept and gave our families plenty of room to relax and get ready. The food was amazing we got to do a menu tasting beforehand and made tweaks to suit our taste, which made the whole experience feel really personal. We'll

They say you know when you’ve found the right house, from the feeling you get when you walk in … and this is exactly how we felt when we first visited St Osyth Priory Estate. We had been to many venues before this visit, but this place just felt right. We had engaged with so many wedding planners at other venues, with cookie cutter formats and fake interest, but St Osyth felt authentic, genuine, bespoke and honest. And it turns out that was our experience throughout the planning and all the way through to our wedding day; Saturday 20th June 2026. The Venue We cannot describe in words just how incredible this venue is. There are so many different facets, so many incredible places and each is stooped in history and beauty. The legend of St Osyth is where the story starts, but the ancient ruins of a once magnificent monastery, a 13th century chapel, a restored gatehouse, The Great Hall and The Gallery in Darcy House, along with a deer park and stunning lakes, gave us so many options to design the wedding day that we wanted. For our wedding day, we chose to have an intimate ceremony in the chapel, followed by a confetti walk by the gatehouse, with drinks and canapés served on the precinct lawn. Our wedding breakfast took place in The Gallery, with gorgeous views across to the deer park. And following our flash mob dance, the party started in The Great Hall, before a stunning fireworks show on the North Lawn. The venue allowed us to have the day we wanted, with a journey for our guests, being able to experience so many different places at St Osyth Priory Estate. Upon reflection, following our wedding day, there is nothing that we would have changed and we are both overwhelmed with how incredible our day was. We have only received - and weeks on still receiving - only wonderful feedback from our guests, most of whom are telling us that it is the best wedding that they have ever attended - some even saying better than their own! The Food The wedding food served at St Osyth Priory is world class. We have never known such great quality food, with so many options compared to any other wedding venue. We understand that the Head Chef previously cooked for Queen Elizabeth II and having experienced the food, we can only imagine that she would have been very satisfied. Nothing was too much trouble and everything we wanted was catered for. Ahead of the wedding, we were invited to a food tasting, to taste the different options that we had chosen from the extensive menu. This took place in the dining room of Darcy West and it was comparable to eating at a high end restaurant. We were given the four canapés to try, as well as full size portions to share of each dish from all three courses. So, we had three appetisers, three main courses and three desserts, as well as unlimited wine to taste, to help us decide what we would have on the day. This day was simply wonderful. We chose to offer our guests a menu choice. This was a small surcharge, but in our opinion totally worth the cost, as it gave our guests the flexibility to choose their own menu for the wedding breakfast. A highlight of our menu was the pancetta wrapped venison loin, which was reared on-site from their own herd. Our food was beyond delicious, served efficiently by a wonderful team and thoroughly enjoyed by our guests. The evening food options are also very flexible and varied, but we decided to go for the bowl food option, with Mongolian crispy lamb with stir fried noodles, crab and samphire risotto and a mixed bean chilli with potato wedges. Again, our evening guests were delighted with the food offered. All dietary requirements were catered for without any issue at all and we have to say that the catering at St Osyth is so much better than any wedding food we have ever had before. The Accommodation Being able to stay at our wedding venue was something that was quite important to us and to our families. We wanted to stay the night before and the night of the wedding, to make it more than just a single day event. St Osyth has accommodation for over 50 people to be able to stay on-site. With all the rooms being recently renovated and refurbished, keeping the character and elegance of the estate, the accommodation here is nothing short of excellent. Our families and friends were able to stay onsite and we had use of the outside Deer Park Kitchen for an informal bbq on the night before. This was a great opportunity for family and friends to get to know each other ahead of the big day, making a more cohesive wedding day. The Service From the moment we arrived and met Head of Weddings, Livi, we had instant confidence in her. She wasn’t insincere, over the top or desperate to get us to book our wedding. Instead she was relaxed, let the beauty and history of the venue sell itself and told us that it was our wedding day, and that she was open to letting us do everything how we wanted. She had an integrity and honesty about her, that we both instantly bonded with. That first impression was right and even post event, she is still exactly the same and still in contact with us. Livi is effortlessly in control of everything. She contacted all of our supplies and ensured that everything was in place, without us having to be involved. She kept us informed, arranged meetings with us and maintained contact with us throughout the planning process. On the wedding day she was present, ensuring that we were being looked after, as well as guests and suppliers too. One of our suppliers even fed back to us that in all the years he has been working on weddings, he has never had a single venue take the time to show him around on his arrival. Livi even went the extra mile to help us get the perfect golden hour photos. In spite of her natural glamour, she piled us all onto a buggy and took us off-road, with the photographer and videographer, across the estate to the lakes to get that perfect shot. She was incredible and is a true asset to the venue. We are forever grateful to her. Of course Livi has a whole team at St Osyth. She was our primary contact throughout and on the day, but Molly arranged all of the accommodation for our guests, was present on the day too and was simply wonderful. We don’t know the names of the other team members on the day, but everyone was friendly, professional, helpful and it was almost as if they were all sharing in the joy of our day. Every single member of the team that we encountered, offered their congratulations to us. They weren’t just their doing a job, they were a part of our day and all helped give us the wedding that we had dreamed of having. Overall Well, we can only give St Osyth Priory the full five stars. Everything we both wanted was delivered. They were collaborative with us and our suppliers too. Our wedding day was exactly what we wanted, with every detail delivered as planned. We simply feel we would not have attained this kind of experience with any other venue. We cannot recommend St Osyth Priory to anyone getting married enough. And we recommend that you do not book any other venue until you have visited here. A stunning venue,

We had the absolute best day of our lives and that’s in no small part thanks to the excellent team, and venue, at St Osyth Priory. Livi and Mel were incredible on the day, with calm professionalism, they ensured that everything went to plan… even when I unknowingly threw things off course. The chefs surprised us by creating a meal even more delicious than we recalled from our tasty trial. The cocktails were garnished beautifully and the champagne tower was a showstopper. We were free to enjoy every moment of our day with total trust that everything was being taken care of by the friendly and detail-driven team, and their brilliant collaboration with our suppliers. The venue itself is stunning. From our first showround, we knew SOP was incredibly special. There are ‘wow’s behind every door and around every corner. Lizzie and Livi were warm, welcoming and full of useful advice. We viewed many venues closer to home and none compared in style, space, and service. The accommodation available on site is luxurious, clean, and comfortable. We struck gold finding St Osyth Priory. It offered everything we wanted and more.

The historic buildings and beautiful grounds create a truly magical setting, and our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how stunning it was. The team were exceptional from the moment we viewed to the wedding day — friendly, professional and incredibly organised — which meant our day ran smoothly and stress-free. A shout out to Livi and Mel for being so accommodating and so helpful on the day! Having accommodation on site was a huge bonus for us with out of town guests. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and every detail of the day felt thoughtfully taken care of. St Osyth Priory gave us an unforgettable wedding experience, and we would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a romantic and timeless venue.

We booked our wedding at this venue in 2023, and from start to finish, the entire experience has been nothing short of amazing. The team were so accommodating and helpful with every request and question we had along the way - nothing was ever too much trouble. Everytime there was a development on the estate, we were always welcomed so warmly and invited in to see how things were progressing. Each time we visited, the venue somehow looked even more impressive than before. It truly is an incredible place, and so many of our guests commented on how beautiful it was – a real hidden gem in Essex. People couldn’t believe a venue like this was just around the corner. In the lead-up to the big day, Livi and Mel were fantastic – so supportive with the setup and full of brilliant suggestions. They went above and beyond anything we expected to make sure everything was ready and just how we wanted it. On the day itself, they were an absolute dream. From the morning prep right through to the evening, they were on hand, working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly. The bar staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the whole team who helped with the reception and dinner service were just amazing. Every single person involved made the day feel extra special. It was honestly the perfect day – we couldn’t have asked for anything more. If you’re considering this venue, we’d really encourage you to go and see it in person – as stunning as the pictures are, they just don’t do it justice. It’s such a beautiful venue with so many different options for how your day can look. We also hired out several of the retreats over the wedding weekend for our bridal party and family, which was such a lovely touch. It meant we could all stay together, enjoy breakfast t
