The Channels was a lovely venue, lots of space, the staff were friendly and all of the aspects of our wedding were catered for e.g. using their easels, table numbers, sweet cart and extra tables etc. Cost - the cost of the venue was average and we saved money by doing it mid-week in the summer holidays (lots of teachers as guests) Drinks - At our taster evening we sampled a lot of the wine, the house wine was not great but the upgraded rose and white were nice. The groom didn't like wine so was given beer for the top table which was appreciated. Just one note for the big wine drinkers - the upgrade fee per person is per wine type, e.g. if you want a table to have upgraded rose and white you need to upgrade both packages, not just pay a single upgrade fee. Not a huge deal but it did bring the price up. Food - We attended our dinner taster evening in January 2025. I chose the vegan option to cater for vegetarians and vegans coming to our wedding (Vegetable soup, Root Vegetable Pie and Brownie/Honeycomb/raspberry sorbet) and my partner chose a meat option (Chicken liver parfait, chicken supreme and treacle tart). The vegan brownie was quite dry but ok, the vegetable soup was salty and the honeycomb was inedible). It made us unsure of the food on our wedding day and as we could only sample one option each on the taster evening, we had to gamble on the food for the day. Boy did our gamble pay off!! Starter for everybody- Tomato soup Meat main - roast chicken with kilted sausage Vegetarian - Vegetable lasagne and garlic bread Dessert for everyone - Raspberry sorbet EVERYONE said how lovely the food was and it was the icing on the cake that our meals were absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend the choices we made as we couldn't fault it! Rooms - I stayed in the Retreat the night before with my bridesmaids, it was a lovely area with nice double bedrooms, a hot tub and a getting ready salon for the wedding day. We ended up ordering in a take away breakfast though on the wedding morning as the offered continental breakfast was not much and not very interesting. The honeymoon suite was so lovely - we only wish we had more time to enjoy it! The Channels Hotel - the staff were very accomodating with our various requests when allocating rooms to guests and managing the guest lists over a 6 month period leading up to our wedding day. The one downside is , as it is a seperate business, they open the rooms to the public a few weeks before your wedding day so the hotel grounds is not exclusive to your wedding party. They do you warning when the rooms are due to go up on general sale but it isn't the best for guests who might change their minds nearer the time and want a room. The Channels hotel breakfast was nice and just about managed to fit everyone in at the same time, although we did have to wait for everyone to get a seat as we had people outside our wedding party sit in the restaurant. Whilst a shame it delayed some of our guests, we appreciate the hotel did ask the other guests to come earlier so that the wedding party could all sit together and there wasn't much the hotel staff could do as they were also paying customers. Everyone said how nice the rooms and the food was from the hotel which was great. Outside Ceremony - We had an outdoor ceremony which was great, we didn't see any of the suppliers as our coordinator Karen was on it all day and was great! We had a lovely time and as it was summer lots of guests made use of the outdoor seating in the evening. Evening food - we opted for the pizza buffet in the evening. Whilst the pizza was great, the groom did have to request more pizza be brought out as it was a while with empty platters halfway through the unlimited buffet, a bit annoying but not the end of the world. Overall: It was a great experience with the Channels and we would

What a perfect day we had, marrying at The Channels Estate. A couple of months before our wedding day, our wedding co-ordinator needed to be changed. We were handed over from Molly to Katie, and the handover couldn't be smoother. Both Molly before, and Katie once handed over couldn't have been more helpful. A couple of weeks before our day I began to have bride jitters about the planning and organisation of decoration etc. Katie replied to my email very quickly, putting my mind at ease. On our big day, Hayley and Karen couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Hayley single handedly tidied the outside area before our ceremony as it had been left quite a mess from the previous wedding the day before, and Karen was on hand following the ceremony with the electric swatter to deter any wasps after the Pimms! Every member of staff we spoke with was lovely and did all they could to ensure we had the

I am a little late in writing this review as we got married in September 2021. It truly was the best day ever and we are so glad that we chose Channels for our wedding day. We knew it was the venue for us, from our first visit where we met with Paul and he showed us around. The venue had everything we wanted, a beautiful barn, great grounds and lots of gorgeous accommodation, which was a must for us. We stayed the night before in The Retreat, which was amazing, with lots of room for us to get ready and although the weather was not on our side, and we could not get married in the ceremony garden, in the end it didn't really matter. Molly was our coordinator and she was incredible. It was like she could read my mind, and everything was exactly as we wanted, without us even having to think about it. The day went by in a flash and the venue looked amazing. We didn't have to think or worry, it all just happened seamlessly. The staff worked so hard and the food was amazing. All our guests had the best time and were so complementary about the venue and they loved the accommodation. It really was perfect the day. The best part is that, as it's not just a wedding venue we can visit again if we want to and book to stay in the hotel for our anniversary. Also must not forget to mention James who works at the hotel. He must have rearranged our accommodation booking so many times and was so kind and helpful. We had to postpone by 6 weeks due to a member of our immediate family becoming temporarily ill

Wow! What can I say?! There are quite literally no words to explain how wonderful channels is. From start to finish, Paul, Eleanor and the whole team could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They took our vision and made it reality without breaking the bank too much. Every single element was perfect from food to decor to operation. It was faultless. Everyone adored the food and said just how beautifu

Channels staff were fantastic both in the planning of the day and organisation on the actual wedding day, we couldn’t fault them. Staff were friendly, helpful and proactive. The wedding day was amazing and so many people commented that it was the best wedding they’d been too. We planned our wedding for what turned out to be during the pandemic.
