It was so lovely to have our family stay with us in the manor and to have three days to celebrate - the rooms are stunning, the communal spaces are perfectly sized and as a musical family, we loved having the piano in the hallway. Silverholme is great because you can curate your exact wedding vision as everything is hired in externally. We hired the stretch tent from Silverholme and the team who set everything up were brilliant and there from 7am to ensure everything was perfect for us. Silverholme If you’re looking for the perfect venue for your dream weekend then Silverholme is the one for you. Every single one of our guests referenced how spectacular the venue was with stunning views in an idyllic setting. The house works perfectly across a long weekend with amazing facilities as well as great access down to the lake. We loved every element of the location with cottages available nearby for guests, water sport equipment available to rent & loads of local hotels & Airbnb's to accommodate whatever suited our guests. Despite the fact that Silverholme is clearly one of the most incredible venues in the country, it was Vanessa (the venue’s host) who was the star of the show. Vanessa was absolute brilliant to work with throughout the whole process and couldn’t do enough for us in support with our preparation. She went above and beyond our expectation and our only disappointment was that she didn’t stay for the full wedding weekend as she was so much fun. The venue is stunning, the rooms and grounds are amazing and it's a wonderful place to host a wedding/celebration. We have a tremendous wedding at Silverholme! We stayed for a full week with our closest friends walking in the local hills, flinging ourselves into the lake, having opulent meals in the enormous dining room and enjoying the beautiful rooms and grounds. The venue was completely perfect for a wedding, with ample space of our marquee, a beautiful coach house for the ceremony, and plenty of space in the house to hosts guests. The lawn is beautiful for the guests to enjoy drinks on and they were able to dash for cover when the occasional shower arrived. There was also ample room for a kitchen to be set up next to marquee. We cannot recommend Silverholme Manor and the surrounding properties enough, they were absolutely perfect and in one of the most amazing settings in the UK. The beauty of the Manor with modern day comforts were absolutely perfect for our week long celebrations. I absolutely loved being lady of the manor albeit for 5 days and Eric certainly settled in well to being Lord!! The stunning views, along with the peace and tranquility of the location, the beautiful wildlife all made our wedding truly special and memorable for us and all of our guests. All of whom could not praise it enough, from the comfort of the big beautiful rooms with amazing views and beds that they slept well in, to the little luxuries such as the soaps and handwashes (they truly smelt amazing) , bathrobes (the kids wanted to take them home!) and all the kitchen facilities and comfortable lounges that made it a truly special week. Silverholme is the most magnificent place to get married in the Lake District. You will be able to see for your self the interior and exterior beauty of the place. But that is not all that makes it special. 1. There are very few, if any, places in the Lake District where you can combine a lakeside setting with enough accommodation for lots of guests. The Graythwaite estate of which Silverholme is a part has enough cottages within walking distance not to make travel between accommodation and venue ok. 2. The team were fantastic throughout and were incredibly helpful in making our vision for the event come true, whether it was a mountain top paella or turning the coach house in to a night club. 3.There is a great network of suppliers who are adept at navigating the idiosyncrasies of the location. We used Karen Rhodes, Little Barn Bar, Smoke and Steel and Original Marquees and would recommend them

Vanessa, the office manager at Silverholme, is an absolute hero! For our wedding at the Silverholme Manor, the tent provider (All About ME Marquees) I chose (going against Vanessa's recommendation) neglected to do a site visit until 72 hours before the wedding. This resulted in very serious and major last-minute issues. Instead of throwing their hands in the air and complaining, Vanessa and her team tried to come up with alternative solutions, all of which she communicated to us in a succinct and timely fashion. What could have been an absolute nightmare turned out to be a beautiful event. This is because Vanessa is a true professional who went beyond her roles and responsibilities to make sure everything ran smoothly. My husband and I had a week-long wedding at Silverholme Manor with 50 guests and it was honestly the best experience we've ever had. Not only is the manor beautiful, but the grounds and views over Lake Windermere are stunning! Our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to - and that was in no small part to Silverholme. We loved the homey-feel of the venue. They have preserved a lot of it's vintage charm while providing cozy and comfortable rooms and maintaining high-end facilities in the kitchen and bathrooms. Our guests spent time hanging by the fire in the great room, playing lawn games on the front lawn and exploring the grounds. We offered a bus tour/ golf trip as well which was incredibly convenient from their location and went off without a hitch. We rented Low Graythwaite Hall, Hullet Hall and Grubbings as well for guests. Our wedding ceremony was in the adjoining coach house, which was perfect for 50 guests. Vanessa helped us to book everything, and coordinated with other Graythwaite Estate managers to extend out to Grubbings Cottage. She offered us viewings, was prompt with questions and was quick to respond to any issue we had (e.g. we requested cots last minute for visiting families and she got them set up within the hour). If you have a larger party, they set up a marquee on the grounds which I imagine would be wonderful as well with the lake views. We used the Coach House for more than just the ceremony - we had a pub-night there the night before and it held our

Everyone has loved the house and grounds, and already before we’d left family were saying they’re saving up to come back for a reunion!!
