Hundith Hill Hotel

It's been 2 months since our wedding and I've received so many compliments about the reception, with it's stunning scenery, and the delicious food. Many happy memories were made here. Absolutely fantastic venue, caters to different sized groups and the room can be adjusted to comfortably hold up to 200 guests (we had around 160 guests). Great choice of meals. I felt it was incredible value for money for the quality of food, the location and the support we received. The hotel provided expert assistance in planning our special day and were very accommodating with everything we wanted. We had canapes on the lawn followed but a hot and cold buffet and desserts. There was so much food everyone had seconds, and the hotel were very accommodating with different dietary requirements. My one regret... I do wish I took the hotels advice and had evening snacks too, that would have been a nice finish. It was a great atmosphere throughout the day no doubt helped by the luxuriousness of the place, excellent service and the friendliness of the staff. Couldn’t recommend Hundith Hill more for your wedding. It was so reasonably priced, and everyone couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. They answered any question we had very quickly, and they were super organised. On the day everything ran so smoothly. The food was amazing- and there was tonnes of it! The service was so quick, and everyone’s food was piping hot. All our guests commented on how fast the service was and how good the food was. And as for the buffet at night- we had lots of farmers attending (who are difficult to fill up!!) and everyone has commented afterwards on how amazing the buffet was- plenty of food, plenty of choice and really good quality. Stunning views, amazing service. Sandra, Phill and all people in the Hundit Hill were so helpful with us during the planning and the day of the wedding. They adapted the menu to our needs even cooking a traditional Venezuelan food. Also, they were very helpful with the vendors and the guests. The venue and Staff at Hundith Hill were all great. We met with Phil many times before the wedding and nothing was too much trouble to ask. We didn't feel we couldn't ask anything. Our wedding ended up being inside for the ceremony due to the weather which meant nothing could be set up in advance. We produced sheets and lists and everything was perfect and exactly what we wanted and how we wanted. The food was delicious for our wedding breakfast and many guests commented on this. We are a couple in our 60s and it was another chance at marriage after bereavement. The day was absolutely amazing the team made the day special, nothing was a problem to them. The food was delicious and all our guests commented on how gorgeous and hot the food was. We had been let down by another venue some weeks before and the team at this venue stepped in and enable our wedding to take place at their wonderful hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone getting married.

Beautiful venue and grounds, reasonably priced and lovely location but we had a few issues with the venue that mean I probably wouldn't recommend to others. We asked well in advance for yorkshire pudding to be on the turkey as well as beef dinners, which never happened. We also expressed that we didn't really want a big fuss to be made when we entered the room for food and it was. We said we'd like music quietly playing in the background as we ate and were told that it's unnecessary and will put people off their food, yet a few bites into our meal we went and asked again for them to turn music on because it was too awkward and quiet. We had major issues all night with disabled toilet access, they kept locking the area where the toilet was so our disabled guests and those with accessibility issues couldn't use the loo. I ended up having to ask the bar staff to open it multiple times, though they passed on the messages to management it was not their fault at all. They weren't going to iron any table cloths until my husband-to-be asked them to when he arrived in the morning (they seemed very reluctant), they also left some rubbish on our In Memory Of table. My husband wanted to say a few words, we didn't have speeches, before the food came out, we told them this from the beginning but they tried to convince us that it was a bad idea to do 'speeches' (it was about 1 minute long) before food even though it was on our schedule and 'idiot list' they asked for, it was as though because the kitchen was ready to bring out food they weren't happy my husband wanted them to wait two minutes (though we were on time, and had put time in the plan to do so!) to thank our guests. There was a few other things that happened that seem very minor but made us uncomfortable. Our decorator struggled to do everything they needed to do because the management insisted on doing a lot of it themselves (doing a worse job and also I was paying the decorator, she knew what I wanted and my style, the Hundith did not). The overarching feeling we got was that they were railroading us into a wedding that was typical and what they thought a wedding should be like, they didn't seem to care too much about what we actually wanted on our big day. We didn't complain on the day because it goes by in a flash and we didn't want to dwell on any negativity. All that being said, the food was delicious, the room looked lovely. The grounds were beautiful too even though we were married just before spring. The staff waiting on and working the bar were so professional and though they were all very young they were mature and extremely pleasant. The bedrooms were really nice, it's a shame myself and bridesmaids had to walk from the room across the uncovered court yard to the hotel, on a rainy day that could have ended in tears but the family room we were in was the perfect size for the bridal party and the bridal suite/room was huge and decorated lovely. We had a brilliant day that I'll remember fondly forever and our guests didn't have a bad word to say (aside from perhaps our disabled guests though they're probably used to poor accessibility), it's just a shame that we had unnecessary stress and annoyance from the one supplier that was the most responsibility to ensure you get the perfect day...
