This is an incredible location for a small wedding. We were looking for somewhere unique and simple, and the castle ruin is stunning while not being ostentatious. We had our ceremony in the small room at the base of the southern tower, and had the courtyard for 3 hours afterwards for drinks and canapés. I loved the venue as soon as i saw it, its so different to other venues. The ruins of the castle provide a dramatic and romantic backdrop, full of history, set within the gorgeous yorkshire countryside. The venue owners, Tash and Pat, were so helpful and straight forward to deal with, they gave us way more flexibility than others offered which allowed us to create our perfect day. They're a small family business not a big company churning out weddings, so its more personal and no hidden costs or agendas. I cant recommend this

My daughter arranged her wedding at Sherrif Hutton castle in less than 6 weeks. This meant we were emailing very frequently in order to get everything arranged in such a short space of time. We had excellent responses from Natasia. Always prompt and helpful, even giving us recommendations and pointers to ensure our day ran smoothly. Sheriff Hutton Castle was more than we could have ever hoped for as a wedding venue. The grounds are beautifully kept by Natasia and Pat and the communication throughout was fantastic. We visited the venue on a few occasions prior to the wedding day and Natasia and Pat were always very accommodating. They also allowed us a day either side of the wedding to set up and clear away and this was fantastic at taking the pressure off us on the day of the wedding. The venue speaks for itself. We did very little to the hall as we were keen for everyone to see the castle for its history and character and it did not disappoint. The ambience of the sounding hall and the relaxed feel of the grounds made for the most incredible day. Guests were also commenting throughout the day about how wonderful the Castle was and how special it was to have as a wedding venue. Everything about the venue was perfect and Natasia and Pat looked after us on the day, even delivering cold drinks to guests after the ceremony. From the moment we walked into the hall we knew this venue was perfect for us. Unlike anything we'd seen before, it was absolutely breathtaking. Not only the hall but the grounds itself with the beautiful castle ruins you can have exclusive use of for you and your guests. You have the freedom to really make it your own, so no two events will be the same. The accommodation is beautifully finished with lots to choose from. The location is perfect, just outside York in the beautiful countryside. Natasia and Pat went above and beyond to make our day special, from providing us with a full length mirror to feeding the lambs! Communication was fantastic throughout. I cannot recommend Sheriff Hutton Castle enough!
