So happy we picked this venue for our wedding! We viewed the venue in November 2023 and after seeing the orangery, we knew that it would work perfectly on the day. We booked our wedding August 2024 hoping for a lovely sunny day. However, the British weather had other plans with a bit of drizzle which did change our plans slightly. Thankfully Rhys was there to ease our worries and having made a full 'plan B', we wouldn't have had it any other way. Instead of getting married outside the orangery, everyone was sat inside instead and everyone was seated inside the coach house for dinner. We quickly realised how versatile the venue really is! We were able to add our own touches to everything to make it feel like our own and having both grown up in Shropshire, once we saw the rolling hills in the background, we fell in love. Rhys was so helpful th

After struggling to find a venue for us, Hopton Court just felt right from the first viewing. As soon as I saw a picture of the orangery I wanted to get married there, it is such a beautiful and unique backdrop. So unique in fact you won’t find another orangery like this one, as it turns out it’s far prettier than it was efficient! Hopton is a historic venue with all of the character and elegance but non of the stuffiness. The venue has been maintained impeccably to retain its original charm, and the grounds are so beautiful that we didn’t even feel the need to decorate with exception to having DIY flower buckets from the locally grown ‘Shropshire flowers’. We had lovely compliments from our guests, some said they had never been to such a naturally beautiful venue, others complimented how unique it was. If the photography is important to you, you will not regret booking this venue, the scenes are straight out of a movie, and you are spoilt for choice with locations on the grounds. An amazing option is for guests to stay overnight in the walled garden, with the power and water; so any keen campers or van goers can stay overnight, we had a few guests do this and had no complaints! Rhys was fantastic to work with, very personal and experienced, he had so much enthusiasm for our wedding from the outset which put us at ease immediately, (those who are in the daunting early days of wedding planning will appreciate this!) I like to think that we were fairly chilled as a couple, but again this was influenced by how easy Rhys and Hopton made the whole process, they respected all of our decisions, there was no pressure to go a certain way or use a particular vendor. They do have a list of suppliers that they can recommend from experience but by no means do they hard sell, which was wonderful and allowed us to find exactly what we wanted and within our own budget, that felt like us. We had no problems booking suppliers, several had worked with the venue before, and were happy to work there again. The venue itself has the facilities needed for all of your hires, 2 kitchens, plenty of courtyard space for food vans and mobile bars, and electric and water outputs. With the wedding boom post pandemic we felt that many venues were churning out cookie cutter weddings which takes away from the importance your wedding day should hold. As a private couple, a must for us was that the venue would be ours only for the day, and this ticked all of the boxes, private and tucked away from the public eye, so we were relaxed and free to be ourselves. We had the venue for 3 days and we were able to book any day that was available, even though it was a Friday, the venue could have made more money from a couple looking to get married on the Saturday, but their integrity was such that we asked first so it was ours. Having seen the venue in all seasons, there is no bad time to get married there. In spring and summer the flowers are magical, and the grounds transition to a stunning autumnal venue. When the nights draw in there are lights in the orangery that are a beautiful and warm romantic addition on a cold winter evening. We can’t quite believe that any of it was real, and it’s still settling in that we are in fact husband and wife, but the day was absolutely magical and I only wish the day had gone on for longer, at least we have the photographs to come. I’d recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful venue but wanting to make the day their own. Everybody should feel as we did, that our wedding was special and one to remember. We have loved

We married at Hopton this May and we are so glad we did! From the first time we visited we knew that Hopton Court would be where we held our wedding. Every area of the venue is unique and absolutely beautiful. Rhys was friendly, helpful and professional the whole way through the process from booking our date, navigating major changes to our plans, to even helping set up and clear away after our wedding. We had the most wonderful few days at Hopton Court Estate this week for my daughter & son in law’s wedding. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough, from the first point of contact back in the autumn 2022, we have received nothing but first class service from the whole team. The “dry hire” basis means you really can tailor your wedding to suit down to every last detail. The Estate itself is stunningly beautiful, the grand house, where the bridal party prepared in the morning, beautiful orangery where we had the outdoor ceremony, fabulous coach house & courtyard where we held the reception and all the gardens, lake, Scouts Wood and views of rolling Shropshire hills are simply divine and provide the most magical photo opportunities, you really will be blown away it’s so breath-taking. Alongside this you have a fantastic range of ancillary buildings which your suppliers are able to use to create your event as well as a huge walled garden area suitable for festivals. Hopton really does have it all, but don’t be put off by the size, we only had an intimate wedding for 50 people in the day and 75 in the evening and the spaces we used were perfect. Special mention though has to go to Rhys the Estate Manager who works tirelessly the whole time to help you create your special day, nothing we asked of him was too much trouble, he is a fountain of knowledge about the estate and provided solutions to any small problems and issues that arose. We chose Hopton Court to get married and it couldn't have been a better choice. Rhys and the rest of the team worked tirelessly to make sure everything went perfectly. First meeting Charlotte we knew we were onto a winner with this venue. There are so many special areas and we wanted to use as much of the venue as possible. On our next meeting we were introduced to Rhys who was brilliant throughout, very professional and easy to get hold of, supporting our ideas and encouraging individuality of our day. The day before, day of and day after the whole team are on hand to help, running around and supporting in the background to ensure things go as smoothly as possible. Myself and my husband had our wedding day at Hopton Court at the end of May, and what an absolutely incredible day it was! We made full use of all of the stunning grounds, having our ceremony in the woods, our drinks reception in the Coachhouse Courtyard, our Wedding Breakfast in the Orangery and our evening reception in the Walled Garden, and we believe that having so many different “sections” of the day made it so much more special and memorable than if we’d had everything in one place. The grounds are absolutely spectacular, and all of our guests were blown away by how wonderful our day was. In the months leading up to our wedding, Rhys, Hopton’s Events Manager, couldn’t have done more to help us make our dream day a reality. He was friendly, professional, and generous with both his time and his support and it was clear to us that he was genuinely excited about hosting our special day. Charlotte, the owner of the estate, was equally as helpful and as wonderful and again went over and above to help us make our dream day as perfect as it was. She even leant us an extension lead the morning of our wedding when it became evident we needed an extra one. If you’re considering booking Hopton Court for your wedding, or indeed for any other function, then we would absolutely urge you to do just that. Even for a relatively small wedding (just 50 day and an additional 30 or so evening guests), it was

Myself & my husband held our Festival Wedding here at Hopton Court this past summer. From the very first viewing to our after wedding farewell, Charlotte, Rhys & Clare were a fantastic team. They were accommodating to our needs, easy to communicate with, friendly, caring & professional. The grounds are stunning and the space was just what we had in mind to host our Wedding day. We had the ceremony outside the gorgeous Orangery - great for photos. Then our reception was held in a large tipi in the walled garden. Guest were able to camp/glamp in the neighbouring field. Bride & Bridesmaid were able to get ready in the main house - albeit due to Storm Norma earlier in the year, the scaffolding made it a tad difficult- it certainly did not take away from the experience. The coach house and court yard was used to welcome guests and we held a small reception there the n

We really wanted a large wedding with all our friends and family, we didn't want to worry about numbers and having to trim the guest list. Having a large marquee in the court yard at the Coach House at Hopton Court, having tipis outside for the pig roast and bar, and using the Coach House as well meant we could accomodate all of our 400 guests (200 in the day and another 200 in the evening). We wanted our wedding to be realxed, informal and fun and it was everything we had dreamed of. We have so many happy memories of the day. The venue was fantastic with plenty of space, car parking and beautuiful grounds for photographs. There is also lovely accomodation locally; we stayed at the Hopton Crown for the weekend, with all the wedding party using the cottages there to get ready f

Everyone has a idea of what their special day will be. We wanted to be surrounded by our friends and family in the day and enjoy beautiful food and drink and at night we wanted a party. This is exactly what we got and more. The orangery was a stunning location to make our vows and we took some beautiful pictures in the gardens. So many possibilities in one area
