When we first visited Hatfield Place, we fell in love with the venue. We wanted to get married in a grand manor house with beautiful grounds and this venue did not disappoint!! We didn't actually end up getting married in the house itself, we chose the stunning Orangery for our ceremony and for our wedding breakfast as it ticked all the boxes! We loved the fact the ceremony room looked out onto the beautiful walled garden and the space that the garden provided for guests when they were enjoying the drinks and canapés in the sun (especially as the weather was on our side!!). The wedding breakfast room had a long bar with a gorgeous white, light up dancefloor and beautiful blossom trees which are included in the room. One thing we looked for in our venue was to have everything in one room so guests could all be together whether they were at the bar, dancing or eating and this venue provides this beautifully! All the facilities on site are to a high standard and the staff were so helpful. On the day I really couldn't fault anything, it ran smoothly and it really was perfect!! There were only two points that I would like to have been better, one was that there is a cottage for the bride to stay in the night before with the bridal party. Unfortunately, we were told this had been closed due to a refurbishment and therefore we were not able to use this facility. I would really have liked to have stayed with my bridal party the night before- this takes the stress of transport on the wedding morning away, especially as we had road closures due to a cycle race and would have made the night before my wedding that bit more special. The other is after we booked the wedding and sent across any queries, I would have to chase to get answers and this was frustrating at times. I would like to add that when it got closer to our wedding day this did improve and responses got quicker. Those points aside, we loved our wedding day

When me and my partner started searching for our perfect venue for our dream day, Hatfield Place was on our agenda as a local stately home and it did not disappoint, a slice of heaven literally 5 minutes down the road from us. If you are after elegant, timeless, classic feel in an incredible house each room decorated differently and with such precision then look no further. Ian and Alison the owners of the venue can’t help out enough, from the night before in the cottage they popped in to help us work some bits in the cottage and then the morning of the wedding Alison put on an incredible spread for me and the girls. They have decorated and cared for the venue with lots of love, attention and detail and it really shows. Michelle was very attentive leading up to the day, and on the day her and the team at Hatfield Place couldn’t have given us a smoother, stress free day. Everything was perfect, from Michelle helping with the pinholes to ushering 100 guests into seats/positions/places in a timely manner. The lack of communication from this venue is the main issue, I had to chase weeks and sometimes months to get an answer. At our meeting 6 weeks out from the venue we discussed all of what we wanted and how was saw our day doing, I provided Hatfield place with notes at the meeting and followed up with an email the next day. None of my requests had been done. The day of the wedding the groom had to ask where the welcome sign was, the bride had to call the owners of the venue three times as the day of coordinator was no where to be seen and vendors was turning up unable to get into the venue and set up, breakfast hadn't been arranged as discussed and the coordinator arrived around 12:00 when informing us she would be on site from 8am. We’ve looked at a lot of venues before choosing Hatfield Place. And I mean…a lot! We covered most of Essex, even Suffolk & Cotswolds and abroad only to find this treasure on our doorsteps. What this place offers is very unique. In the sense that you get the most amazing venue and grounds and the best team all in one place. They have thought of everything. We first booked this venue in 2019 and got married in 2022 (Thank you Covid). With every visit we would notice new things added and could see how much the owners care for the place. Each thing seems handpicked to add to the charm of this beautiful place. There is not one thing I would change about my wedding day and this is coming from a very picky bride 😅. We booked the venue for my daughters wedding in December 2019 - it combines perfectly the old and the new. The house itself has been superbly refurbished to the highest standard, and the separate rooms meant that people at the drinks reception were able to chat in an intimate and comfortable environment. The orangery where the wedding breakfast and evening reception were held is fantastic, its brand new so everything is catered for - you cant go wrong with this venue and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We had close to 200 guests sitting for dinner and the venue held us all comfortably. I have no hesitation recommending this venue if you want the ideal reception to your special day. My daughter hannah married hurry on the 7th sept 2019 It was the best wedding I have ever been to. I am the father and have had nothing to do with any planning..my daughter and husband did it all. The staff at Hatfield place were wonderful, led superbly by Michele. She was extraordinary.. adding ever bit of detail that was needed. She was on hand 24/7 The building has been beautifully restored and all the rooms in the house are majestic. And the orangery and grounds where the reception was held was amazing. This has all been built over the past year and made the day so special and the pictures were incredible with beautiful back drops ..go and see this place before you decide on anywhere else..
