otherwise this was pretty much a perfect winter wedding in a very scenic town. All thanks to Natalie and her team at The George In Rye who from day 1 of our planning were super efficient and helpful and who on the day were superbly organised and attentive to our needs. My mum did high end silver service waitressing for nearly 40 years and she was very impressed at everything she saw

Russell & I met 8 years ago & in 2015 we had our little boy, my first Mothers Day Russell proposed to me in March 2016, we decided we were going to get married that year. I searched and searched for ‘that special venue’ and then I came across the George in Rye and instantly fell in love, this was my perfect venue...it was quirky, had rooms for all my guests to stay, amazing food & wine, it ticked all the boxes. We went to view the venue and met Natalie the wedding organiser for the George & it was even more perfect, they had our December date so we booked! Natalie said the venue was even more special at xmas with all the fairy lights and xmas decorations, she did not disappoint. Natalie is a credit to the George she couldn’t do more to help & make sure your wedding day was everything and more. On the day of the wedding I can’t tell you how many guests said how beautiful the venue was & how amazing the food was, the day was literally perfect! The photographer was just bowled over with how beautiful the venue looked & was so excited to be working our wedding as she knew the pictures would shine. I wish I could say in words how special our day was and how happy we are that we found the George. I will go back to the George every year to mark our anniversary, it truly is the most beautiful venue and

The George in Rye - this beautiful elegant hotel is set in the heart of Rye town centre, a lovely little historic town with cobbled lanes, which makes the perfect back drop to beautiful wedding photos. The hotel itself is just stunning like a mini Downton Abby it's very classic and chic. The beautiful ballroom is the perfect setting for a wedding it really doesn't need any more frills added to it to make it a wow wedding venue. Good Food and wine are extremely important to myself and my husband!!! and it was a high priority that on our wedding day it was right, the menu choices were amazing and if we wanted anything specific the hotel would accommodate it. The food was all outstanding and the wine choices were of exceptional standard too. Natalie the wedding coordinator at the George was just amazing she made us feel like our wedding was the only wedding that had or ever will take place in the George!! She made it so personal and took care of everything running up too and on the day itself, with personal touches everywhere from her wake up call on the morning of the wedding to when she personally bought us our 1st glass of fizz after the ceremony ( whi

The wedding day itself was perfect and I don’t think either of us could have asked for more. We had the absolute best time and everyone from your team were just wonderful. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it! Also, we obviously came to The George after being seriously let down by our original venue and I don’t think I could be happier. To say that it was the best thing that happened during the time we were planning the wedding is probably an understatement! The venue is beautiful, the food was divine and the service was second to none. Our entire guestlist have been raving about it and we can’t thank you enough. Once again, thank you. It doesn’

My husband and I are regular visitors to The George. Since the refurb it has become our favourite UK retreat - we love exploring the area and find the hotel fabulously informal, while being extremely well-run. The place has been miraculously transformed by the Clarkes - the rooms are gorgeous with luxurious touches, the bar and restaurant equally so. The food is fantastic and we are always assured of a warm welcome. Other people clearly share our view - booking ahead is advised!

We have just returned from a perfect weekend away at the George in Rye. We arrived on the Friday night from London to be greeted by curteous, friendly staff. We were shown to our room on the first floor, overlooking the streets of Rye. We had booked a standard double and the room was lovely, as mentioned in other reviews the room was a bit small but this wasn''t a problem at all as it was comfortable and full of nice little touches - lavender pillows, the radio playing classical music as we came in etc. The bathroom was perfect with a deep bath and a monsoon shower, as well as gorgeous Aveda products. We had reserved a table in the bar on the Friday night and a table in the restaurant on the Saturday night. Both nights the food was fantastic and the wine list was extensive and very reasonable. We had breakfast in the dining room on the Saturday and as an indulgent treat - in bed on the Sunday. We wanted
