We honestly can’t thank the team enough for making our wedding day so perfect. From start to finish, everything was incredible, and we truly had the best day! The communication throughout the entire planning process was fantastic, and the team was so organised, making everything feel completely stress-free. On the day itself, every member of staff was friendly, professional, and so much fun. So many of our guests commented on how amazing the team were and how beautiful the venue was. We genuinely couldn’t have wished for a better venue for our wedding. Thank you so much for all of your hard work, care, and attention to detail—it made our day every

If you’re thinking about booking Pelham House for your wedding day, do it! It’s a huge decision but was by far one of the best ones we made for our wedding. It was the first venue we visited in summer 2023, and we found ourselves comparing the other venues we saw back to Pelham House in one way or another, so we went back to view it for a second time a few months later and booked it for December 2025. We went over our original budget for the venue hire and catering, but the payment schedule over this period was clear and manageable. Any questions we had in the lead up to our wedding were responded to quickly and thoroughly. On the day, the staff blew us away – in particular, our event manger Immy and bar manager Jonny went over and above to ensure we had the best day ever. Nothing was too much for Immy – from checking in on me and my bridesmaids in the bridal prep room first thing (which we were granted access to an hour early, which I was very grateful for as it made getting ready less of a rush!) Immy took all the stationery and decorations we’d brought with us off our hands so we could just focus on enjoying the morning. Immy was on hand right up to evening, ensuring everything ran to time and paying attention to detail including helping me with getting stones out of my shoes and bustling my dress before our first dance! The venue was tastefully decorated for Christmas and the quality of food and drinks on the day exceeded our expectations. Having a selection of canapes put to one side for us so we didn’t miss out was a nice touch! So many of our guests complemented the service, food and drinks served during our wedding breakfast and in the evening (one guest said the pizza was the best they’d ever had). Jonny was professional and good craic behind the bar and our evening cocktail

Immi went above and beyond from day one, truly understanding our vision and making sure every detail was perfect. Having her as our dedicated coordinator from start to finish made the whole journey so easy and personal. Her smiley attitude and calm guidance made the whole planning journey so easy and enjoyable. I've thought about writing this review for a while, and at first I wasn't going to because in the end I had a wonderful day and will always have those beautiful memories at Pelham House. But I also think honest reviews are valuable for anyone looking at a potential venue, not to put them off, but just to give them as much insight as possible (I've already given feedback privately, so Pelham House should hopefully have taken some things on board already, but I never heard back). TLDR In the lead-up to the day, I was made to feel like everything was taken care of. Then, in the two days before the wedding, up till the morning of, I realised a lot of my requests had been lost or forgotten. Plus, I didn't have the time or help I needed setting up, due to an event at the venue the day before, despite paying the full price to book it for both days. Good things The food was wonderful! Everyone was very impressed by the service as well. Once the wedding actually started, the day all went quite smoothly, and everyone enjoyed themselves a lot. Pelham House looked beautiful (of course). Everyone I interacted with individually at Pelham house was incredibly kind and professional, and in-person things seemed to be very organised. Access to the venue I was told that if the day before my wedding was still available four months before, I would be able to book it so my guests could settle in and I could start setting up. I checked constantly on the website and was happy to see that it was still available every time I checked, so when the 4-month date came around, I got in touch to book it. Only then was I told (despite having shown interest from day one) that they'd booked an event that day. They told me I was still able to book it (and pay the same amount) but I wouldn’t be given access until later in the day. I pointed out that it’s unusual to me to pay the full price for something if you’re missing part of it, and they said they could bring the delay back by an hour (so there must’ve been some flexibility from the start) but wouldn’t budge on the price. I didn’t see much of an alternative, so I paid the full amount. Then, a couple of days before my wedding, I was told that my coordinator wouldn’t be able to be there to help me set up the evening before the wedding, as she was working during the event earlier in the day. By that point, I was exhausted by wedding planning and I didn’t want to make a fuss, so I just said that was fine, but I’m sure setting up would’ve gone much smoother and been more enjoyable with her help and advice. Guests’ rooms I’m weary of seeming like a ‘bridezilla’ but one small thing that did really mean something to me was that I wanted my mum to have a room with a bath. There was only one standard room with a bath, according to the floor plan, but the descriptions of the rooms in the booklet put it in a different room to the floor plan. To make sure my mum was in the right room, I emailed to explain the error and request that she be put in whichever one had the bath, and I was told that was all fine and taken care of. Luckily (or I might not have realised the mistake) I requested the same room for the night before the wedding, and when I saw it didn’t have a bath, I went to the man at the front desk, who wasn’t sure if any of the standard rooms had a bath. I requested to be swapped to the room next door, which (sure enough) was the one with the bath, but having believed this was all sorted months ago, it was quite irritating. It also showed that the hotel staff weren’t very familiar with each of the rooms, which I would expect them to be given there’s less than 30 to know about. Worse than that, my 92-year-old great-uncle arrived to be told that his ground-floor room hadn’t been made up for him. He had to go in someone else’s room who had to cancel last minute (but whose room was already made up). I imagine they won’t have made up that room after they realised they didn’t need to, which means we paid for a room that wasn’t ever prepared/cleaned etc. I spent a long time, months before the wedding, sorting out rooms for my brothers’ families who needed two Z-beds each. I paid extra for the four Z-beds and was told there would be two in each room, but when they arrived, this hadn’t been sorted. I don’t know quite what was there instead, if it was just one Z-bed in each room or none at all, because my family kindly protected me from this little bit of stress the morning of my wedding, but I found out after. I also found out after the wedding that there was a baby’s cot in my sister-in-law’s room, which luckily she found quite funny, but you never know when that could be triggering for someone, so it shouldn’t have been there unless it was asked for. Other little things We made it very clear from the start that we didn’t want the LOVE lights in the ballroom for our wedding. We were told they wouldn’t be, and when we saw them there the evening before, we were assured they would be moved before the wedding. They were still there in the morning, and my husband had to insist to get them taken away. Unfortunately, the videographer had already arrived and filmed the ballroom set up, so they do feature in our wedding video against our wishes. And this might be our fault for forgetting to specifically request it, but I expected there to be bowls and spoons put out when we cut the ‘cake’ because we were having a pavlova, and our guests were going to serve themselves. We only realised once we’d cut the pavlova and (not wanting to dig in with our hands) we had to go straight to the first dance without tasting it. These were provided quickly once I asked for them, though. All in all, it was a great day (but, honestly, I think it would’ve been a great day anywhere!). Pelham House itself was lovely, and th

Pelham house blew us away from the moment we first visited and delivered above and beyond our expectations on the day itself. The level of professionalism was great throughout the planning process. Despite a last minute change to the ceremony location from outside due to bad weather Immy made sure everything ran smoothly and on time in her calm professional manner. The food and drinks were exceptional and have been complimented by our friends and family ever since. The venue is absolutely beautiful and perfect to have everyone stay over in the same place to minimise the hassle of getting taxis at the end of the night. Jonny the b

We booked our wedding at Pelham House this summer and had such a great experience. We booked the venue around 2 years in advance and found the venue very accommodating and great at keeping in touch in all of the lead up to the day itself. We were assisted by Immy throughout the process and she was great, and on the day itself she was so attentive and helped to make it go really smoothly - nothing was too much for her. Pelham House was an amazing venue. They have the wow factor which really impressed us on our first visit and also noted by all our guests. The venue ticked all our boxes, it was very spacious which was needed to accommodate our guest numbers, had on-site accommodation which was another key factor for us. We were lucky to be able to get married outside and the garden is beautiful. The food was amazing, we received so many compliments and overall it was great value f

Pelham proved to be an incredible wedding venue, offering an all-in-one experience that made our special day seamless and stress-free. From the ceremony and wedding breakfast to the disco and hotel stay, everything was beautifully contained within one building—a true hidden gem in the heart of Lewes. The food was a highlight, consistently praised by both our guests and ourselves throughout the day. To top it off, the weather was wonderfully on our side. We deeply appreciated the venue’s inclusivity in hosting a gay couple. The diversity among the staff added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, making the day even more memorable. One of Pelham’s standout features was the availability of two getting-ready rooms—an uncommon yet brilliant tou

We could not recommend Pelham House more. Not only is it the most beautiful wedding venue either myself or my husband have ever been to, but the service we received from start to finish was fantastic. Nothing was too much for Dani and the team and our wedding was more than we could ever have dreamed of. We had a lot of guests but that didn’t seem an issue at any point in the day, the staff were all so accommodating and friendly and they made everything so easy for us. The food and drinks were phenomenal and all of the hotel rooms were absolutely beautiful. A special thanks to Dani for making my dreams come to life, it was all absolutely perfect.

Pelham House was the second venue we saw, and even though we had another couple of venues booked in, we decided Pelham was for us. The building has such a natural beauty, and not just in the main rooms, every aspect of the house and gardens is beautiful. It is in an ideal location, an hour from London, and although it is in the central of Lewes you would never know it from the building as it's a bit set back with beautiful gardens. The staff were great, there were a few things that happened behind the scenes on the day, but the staff handled it so seamlessly that we didn't know about it until the next day. The food was amazing as well, the amount of people who said it was the best food they'd ever had at the wedding was crazy, and the amount of clean plates that went back to the kitchen spoke the truth. Not to mention how amazing the canapes were. Emily was a lovely coordinator, and kept our day moving perfectly. The hire, food/drink, and rooms were exceptionally good value, and the bar is well priced. I would say just outside London prices for pints etc. The only comment was the price of a 6 pack of beers for the groomsme
