East Mersea Hall was the best wedding venue we could possibly have asked for! From booking with them up until our wedding day we could not have asked for anything more! They were so professional and made it so easy to make the wedding of our dreams

I honestly don’t know where to start with East Mersea Hall — there are so many reasons I could give them a 100-star review! ⭐️ From the moment we first viewed East Mersea Hall, we just knewit was where we wanted to get married. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, but there is also such a peaceful and calming feeling about the whole place. We knew we wanted a woodland wedding and, most importantly, we wanted our dog, Riley, to be a huge part of our day. The woodland area at East Mersea Hall was exactly what we were looking for, and the fact that they were so welcoming of Riley was the icing on the cake. 🐾❤️ Originally, I had imagined us having a woodland ceremony followed by a tipi reception, which East Mersea Hall could accommodate. But then we saw the Pavilion, and we completely changed our minds! It was beautiful, with gorgeous views over the lake, and I could instantly picture our reception there. And then there was the food… WOW! 😍 We chose the BBQ option, and we have had so many of our guests tell us how incredible the food was. Like many brides, I had absolutely no appetite on the day, but I did manage to try a little of everything — and what I tasted was AMAZING! I’m genuinely gutted I couldn’t eat more because it was so good. If you’re considering the BBQ, you HAVE to have the pulled pork — it was honestly to die for! Our guests also couldn’t stop talking about how good the fish skewers were either! Throughout the whole build-up to our wedding, our coordinator, Anneka, was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, and whenever we had a question, she was always there to help. Emails were answered within hours, and she somehow always seemed to know the questions we hadn’t even thought to ask yet! Then came our wedding day, and Anneka was quite honestly incredible. She was putting out fires I didn’t even know had happened — and there was one pretty big fire… 😂 One hour before our ceremony, a can of Coke was accidentally knocked over and sprayed all over the bridesmaid dresses. 😱 Anneka found a fix, helped the girls clean the dresses and got them dry, all without me even knowing it had happened! (I only found out three days after the wedding!) 😂 That was Anneka throughout the whole day, though. Things were happening behind the scenes, but she dealt with them before they ever became our problem, which allowed us to just enjoy our day. There were also so many things she was doing in the background to make things extra special that we would never have thought of. She had a plate of canapés put aside for us so we wouldn’t miss out while we were having pictures taken. She also did the same when she realised I hadn’t eaten much all day… We got back to the bridal suite at the end of the night and found that she had left us a selection of treats from our dessert table AND a pizza each. 🥹❤️ It was such a small thing, but after such a huge and emotional day, walking into our room and finding that waiting for us honestly meant so much. And as if all that wasn’t enough, Anneka even came into work early the following morning just to say goodbye to us before we left. I honestly don’t think we could ever properly thank her for everything she did. Thanks to Anneka and the whole team at East Mersea Hall, we were able to relax, be present and enjoy every moment of the day. If you’re a bride-to-be looking for a wedding venue, I honestly cannot recommend East Mersea Hall enough. 🤍 One of the biggest things for us was finding a venue that worked within our budget, while still giving us the beautiful wedding experience we had dreamed of — and East Mersea Hall absolutely delivered. We never felt like we had to compromise on the things that mattered to us, and the whole experience felt incredibly good value for money. Having everything in one place was also a huge bonus. From getting ready, to the ceremony, reception and celebrations, everything was right there. It meant our guests didn’t have to worry about travelling between different venues, getting lost, organising taxis or dealing with the chaos that can come with moving everyone from one place to another. It made the whole day feel so much more relaxed and enjoyable for everyone, and we could simply focus on celebrating together. The professionalism of the whole team was fantastic, but I have to give a special mention to Anneka. From the moment we started planning, she was absolutely brilliant. She was so approachable, responsive and reassuring, and genuinely made us feel like we could ask her anything. No question was ever too silly, and she always took the time to respond and put our minds at ease. As a bride, there are so many things running through your head in the build-up to your wedding, and having someone like Anneka who is organised, calm, helpful and genuinely cares makes such a difference. On the wedding day itself, she was incredible — making sure everything was running smoothly, checking we had everything we needed and constantly reassuring us so we could actually enjoy our day rather than worrying about the little things. The venue is absolutely stunning, but for us it was the combination of the beautiful setting, having everything in one place, staying within budget and, most importantly, the incredible support throughout the whole process that made East Mersea Hall the perfect choice. East Mersea Hall, you have our hearts!! 🤍 From the very first day we went to see this beautiful paradise, you had our hearts. WHAT. A. PLACE! 😍 We had our perfect wedding day on 27th June 2026, and we honestly couldn’t have chosen a more magical venue. Holly, Anneka and the whole team have been so much more than our wedding planners. The balance between professional and friend is absolutely spot on. You are always so warm, welcoming and helpful, and the love you showed our little boy Jaxon on every visit was just so sweet. 🥹❤️ Nothing was ever too much. Everything we asked for, you either made happen or came up with something even better. Being reminded throughout the whole process that it was OUR day was so lovely and made us feel completely at ease. And the food… WOW! 🤤 We chose the BBQ for a relaxed, chilled vibe and it absolutely did not disappoint. The pizza in the evening was the perfect choice and was delicious! 😋 And of course, the cheeky pizzas left in our room for a midnight snack… thank you Holly! 😂🍕 The attention to allergies was also 10/10. We had several guests who are gluten free, but it was never a problem. The meat marinades were already gluten free, and gluten-free pizza and canapés were also provided. It was all so thoughtfully done. We chose to have our outdoor ceremony in the Walled Garden, and WOW… it was stunning! 🌿🤍 There are so many beautiful options at East Mersea Hall, and every part of the venue is just breathtaking. The attention to detail is second to none. Every time I see the venue, it gives me goosebumps. From the lake, the boat and the swing, to the beautiful grounds and, of course, the Drunken Duck… it is all just so unbelievably beautiful. 🦆✨ And the location is another reason we loved it so much. We had the most amazing whole weekend with our friends and family staying next door at Coopers Beach. Being so close to our wedding venue before and after the big day made the whole experience even more special. I don’t actually think I have the words to express how INCREDIBLE everything about our wedding day was!!! From the initial booking all the way up until the day! Anneka was OUTSTANDING!!!!! She couldn’t do enough for us and was so accommodating and flexible when a few things needed adjusting last minute and didn’t make me worry at all. I felt 100% confident in Anneka and her team and I was so right to. They all worked so hard, the day ran so smoothly and Anneka had remembered every single touch and vision I had asked and to see that being created after working so hard over the past year made all of the stressing worth it!!! WOW, Just Wow!!! If you’re thinking of booking this venue, then do it!! It’ll be the best decision you have ever made!! 2 weeks ago today, me and my husband Charlie, had the most magical wedding day that we could have ever dreamed of 🥹 and it was all thanks to East Mersea Hall & The Staff!! Anneka our wedding planner, is absolutely amazing!! So professional, organised and with you every step of the way! Nothing is too much for her and she helped me pull of so many surprises (a surprise birthday cake, surprise groom, fireworks etc) I could not recommend her enough!! From start to finish, we just had the perfect day, all the little touches, the outside ceremony was stunning, the lake and boat ride is beautiful, the reception and food was amazing and the party and dance floor in the evening was such good vibes!! EMH were incredible! The venue alone is stunning and such a hidden treasure in Mersea, so many people were asking how we found it! We got married outside which was perfect but EMH had a plan for everything. Anneka was particularly amazing and we are so grateful for her support. People talk about the feeling when you find ‘the’ wedding dress - that’s how we felt when we found THE venue. This venue. The energy and attitude of the staff was unlike anywhere else we visited. They just felt so real. They were so excited for us at every step of the way, but always managed to stay calm and keep me calm because they’ve done this so many times! Initially, we spoke to Anneka a lot and then Holly joined the team and became our point of contact. They are both amazing women, and Holly was an absolute godsend on the day. Nothing was too big or too small for Holly, and she made me feel calm and relaxed all day long. She made sure me and my husband were looked after at every step, that we remembered to take a breath, take a bite, have a sip! I feel like she would have tried to find the gold at the end of the rainbow if I had needed it on the day, because she was willing to go above and beyond. The venue itself doesn’t need any dressing up, because it is so so gorgeous all on its own. The house, the lake, the pavilion all speak for themselves. It really feels magical just to be there. East Mersea Hall and all the staff there were everything and more that we could ask for, Anneka especially. Nothing was too much, our ideas were embraced with such enthusiasm and our dream came to life. On the day Anneka was there from start to end, enduring the day was as stress free for us as possible and she truly nailed it. She is an asset to the venue. The venue itself has everything we could have asked for, a woodland, pavilion, beautiful outside area and lake - the perfect setting to our Autumnal wedding. Our over night stay in the Bridal Suite was comfortable and provided the much needed rest and relaxation. We couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough, it is perfection in every aspect.
