We got married at Deighton Lodge on the 4th of may 2024 and wow what a wedding! I fell in love with the venue at the very 1st visit, it's rustic charm, nice garden and surrounding areas and the wedding parlour used for brides to get ready in is absolutely gorgeous. The fact you get use of the house aswell was amazing, the house is absolutely stunning with a number of modern and spacious bedrooms meaning guests who were travelling from further away could stay over the night and cut down on travel costs. All of the staff involved (Carla the owner, Sally the manager and Ella the wedding planner) were so helpful throughout the whole process, checking in and seeing if we needed help with anything, checking how we were feeling and helping calm nerves. We were allowed access to the barn for a few days before the actual wedding meaning we had plenty of time to set up for our big day. The venue was

DEIGHTON LODGE IS THE PLACE TO GET MARRIED! What can I say other than Deighton lodge was the best decision we made for our wedding day. Sally and the team are amazing and so accommodating, we almost feel like we’ve made a friend for life throughout the process. We fell in love with Deighton due to the lovely open barn and the chance to make it your own and allow all your vision to come to life! Sally and Ella were there to guide us through the whole process, allowed us to measure up and ask silly question and never made us feel uncomfortable. As for the wedding day SALLY AND ELLA ARE THE DREAM TEAM! The way they laugh with you, tend to all the brides needs (like a stain that appears that needs cleaning!) joining in with the guests and blending into the crowd, they allowed the day to run seamlessly! Cannot recommend Deighton Lodge enough. We didn't find anywhere else in the area that gave us the balance we were after - between rustic and modern, DIY but convenient, homey but hotel-y. And Deighton have this all in spades. The fact that the entire grounds including the house is yours for the weekend means you can savour everything. I felt like lady of the manor! We had family round on Friday night for a BBQ and it was just perfect. The staff were amazing. Ella - the wedding coordinator - was an absolute GODDESS. She kept things moving and everyone on track - so we could have the joys of a DIY wedding with the convenience of a hotel one. Sally - the general manager - was brilliant too. So handy having people on hand who know the venue inside out and can give guidance and help. I was originally confused by what they'd both do in a DIY dry-hire venue but honestly, I am SO pleased they were there and literally wouldn't have it any other way! The barn is just stunning. And the fact that all the decorative touches (like the wheel lights, the milk-pail urinals, and the eclectic furniture and artwork - and the new bar!) are all in there and part of the package makes a massive difference. To the overall look and feel as well as to your budget. The house is fab - we fit all our family plus a few plus 1s into the rooms. The bridal suite was brilliant for me and the girls. We had such a good time getting ready in there. Most brides get ready in a hotel room - which is fine - but we had so much space and it was just brilliant. Yes it's pricey. It was over our budget and we paid for our family to stay in the house but you could easily ask for contributions to bring that down. It's fairly reasonable when you break it down. Definitely recommend doing it though. You won't regret it. I only wish I'd opted to tack on the Sunday night. Packing up and cleaning out the next day was not fun after a full-on night! Over

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Deighton Lodge - Just WOW!! Hannah and I got married at Deighton Lodge on the 27th May 2023, but our wedding journey actually began back in 2021. We attended an open day at the venue, and it was love at first sight! In fact, we didn't feel the need to view any other venues! The venue’s magic with its beautiful surroundings and huge barn, not far from York, set the stage for an unforgettable wedding, and we were thrilled to share this with our guests. A special shout out to Carla and also Sally and Angie, the amazing wedding coordinators! In the weeks before our wedding, Sally and Angie played a huge role in relieving any pre-wedding nerves we may have had. Their calm nature, combined with their professionalism, instantly put our minds at ease. On the actual day, Sally and Angie's brilliance shone through. The smoothness of the entire day was a testament to them both. Many of our guests commented on how effortlessly the day unfolded. Their professionalism allowed us as the bride and groom to fully relax and enjoy every moment, knowing that everything was in capable hands. A mention also for the farmhouse which comes with the venue, which really felt like a home away from home. With both of our families not being from the area, this was a great addition to be able to have our family all together under one roof. The farmhouse not only served as a place for accommodation but also for post-wedding celebrations on the Sunday, where we could all reminisce about the previous day. To couples searching for a wedding venue, we totally recommend Deighton Lodge. The moment we arrived during that open day, we knew it was the place for us. The barn really does have that WOW factor! We booked Deighton Lodge before COVID was even a thing as we knew we had other family weddings and baby plans before planning to wed ourselves. We knew we wanted a barn wedding and the York area was a perfect location with family in Leeds and hull. Deighton was the only venue we looked at, we loved it and booked it straight away. The barn offered us a chance to plan a wedding that was totally us. We loved that the venue looked great and that the house was such a special place where our wedding party could relax before the big day and spend some quality time together on the morning of. 27th December 2015, we were driving back from London having got engaged in the Shard on Boxing Day and we were looking at wedding venues in York. I cried when I read about Deighton Lodge. It was quite emotional to learn that somewhere could allow you to totally put your stamp on it! We were drawn to the fact that when we viewed it, it was a blank canvass, there wasn't even a proper roof at the time, renovations on the barn were well underway. This made us even more excited, the prospect of holding our wedding reception in a place where our friends and family had never been before. Carla had a vision of how the barn was going to look and we were hooked! They pulled out all of the stops to have everything ready for us and made us feel very special! I can not thank the staff at Deighton Lodge for making my wedding the most magical day. They really listened to everything that we wanted and went above and beyond to make everything perfect from start to finish. They genuinely care about their guests and make sure that every little detail is in place. Its the extra little touches that you get at Deighton Lodge and the person service that is what sold it for us.
