Carberry Tower

We were looking for a venue that could provide most things in house as we wanted to avoid having lots of different vendors to coordinate and we truly could not have asked for a better venue and team than we received at Carberry Tower. From the moment we arrived for our first tour over 2 years ago up until the days after our wedding, the team was absolutely incredible. The venue itself is absolutely stunning both indoor and out making it the perfect venue when having to factor in the uncertainty of Scottish weather. They have multiple different room options for each part of the wedding celebration which we loved as it allowed us to tailor our day to the aesthetic we envisioned whilst removing the hassle of room turnovers. The bedrooms are all very comfortable and many of our guests praised the accommodation options and breakfast in the morning. They also have some townhouses onsite which are very spacious and worked very well for myself and my bridesmaids the night before and for some of the larger families we had attending. Our main point of contact was Lauren who was absolutely amazing, and always extremely attentive and quick to reply to my many emails and phone calls. She was very patient with us when we ran into uncertainty with my (now husbands!) visa process and helped us navigate through a very difficult few weeks. On the day of our wedding she was such a calming presence and did an amazing job of making sure everything ran smoothly and in the way we wanted it to. On the couple of occasions Lauren was out of the office, Rebecca and the other girls on the team stepped in to make sure our queries were answered in a timely fashion. Jo the estate manager was also incredible and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was everything we dreamed of, from being tech support for my dads speech (and PowerPoint presentation!) to having highland cows in the rose gardens for us we couldn’t have asked for more. He was there to meet us on arrival the day before to help make sure everything was set up for us and checked in with us throughout the day to make sure everything was running as we wanted it to. Jenna was in charge of our food and beverages both for our tasting and on the day and we couldn’t fault her. She did a great job of checking everyone had the correct meal and that all allergens were accounted for, as well as chasing a wasp that was tormenting our nephew out of the banqueting pavilion, and snapping a few photos of us during our firework display since our photographers had already left. She also made sure to keep a tray of canapés aside for myself and my husband and kept our desserts in the back for us to make sure we didn’t miss out when we were having photos taken. Many of our guests commented on how good both our wedding breakfast and evening buffet were which was something really important to us as we have both been to weddings where the food has been subpar and we didn’t want to be that couple. Our wedding planning experience was nothing short of 5 stars from the start. We had the pleasure of planning our wedding with Isabella and Lauren who were extremely responsive, provided lots of information in the initial pre-booking stages, showed us around the venue and went through every detail of the day. We never felt any pressure to book and felt all our questions were answered in plenty of detail. The events team were very organised and highly professional over email and in person. They provided us with detailed timelines and task lists in plenty of time, but also understood that some degree of flexibility was going to be required due to our very busy lifestyles. Nothing was ever any trouble. Our day went about as smoothly as it could have done and our friends and family were blown away by how well everything was run. The morning of the wedding was very relaxing with plenty of space for both of us to get ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen. All staff were very calm and welcoming, always with a smile. It was very clear that everyone took pride in what they do. Agnes who took over from Lauren to run the wedding breakfast and evening reception was fantastic at ensuring that things ran to schedule paying a lot of attention to every detail. Probably very few local venues have the benefit of being private (if you wish), yet having plenty of open space and variety of places for guests to enjoy the day - the chapel, the rose gardens, indoor lounges, wedding breakfast pavilion and another separate space for the evening party and dancing. This was something important to us as we did not want to be confined to just one room for the majority of the day. Having 30 bedrooms available on site for friends and family was also a massive bonus as it meant that we got to see our loved ones and share our memories of the night before with them over breakfast the next day. We got married at Carberry Tower this summer and we are so happy with our venue choice! The venue itself is stunning and we fell in love with it when we first visited. Isabella initially showed us around the venue and explained how the day would run and we came away knowing it was the venue of our dreams. Communication over the next 11 months was brilliant - Isabella was quick to respond and nothing was too much hassle for the team. In the run up to the big day, Rebecca took over from Isabella and she was so lovely to work with. She was completely up to date with everything we had discussed previously with Isabella and again nothing was too much hassle. The team were extremely flexible with last minute changes and we felt really looked after on our big day. Several guests have commented on how stunning the venue is but have said what made the day even more special was just how good the staff were at looking after everyone. Almost as soon as we viewed Carberry Tower for the first time, we knew it was exactly what wed pictured for our wedding. The house, grounds, chapel and pavilion were all exactly right for our needs, and Isabella was extremely helpful throughout the planning process in terms of answering all our questions quickly and clearly. Carberry Tower is the absolute ideal location for your wedding. The grounds are simply stunning no matter the weather (which is handy in Scotland when you can get all 4 seasons in one day) and the staff are so friendly, helpful and brilliant at what they do. In particular, their wedding coordinator kirsty and her team are wonderful,they were able to guide and support us through our whole wedding journey, which was especially challenging during a global pandemic! We chose Carberry as our wedding venue and we were so, so glad we did. Kirsty in particular bent over backwards for us so many times that she must be in need of a good chiropractor at this point. Everything was just perfect. We had a large wedding of about 150 but there were no hiccups; nothing was too much trouble and the venue worked really well for the large numbers. The food was utterly delicious - we had loads of compliments from guests - and service was very slick. Staff were lovely throughout and there was no sense of pressure or anxiety at any point despite all the usual small bumps in the road you'd expect at a large wedding; they just seemed to roll with it. We got married at Carberry Tower and we were so, so happy with our choice of venue. Everyone in the staff was really lovely and helpful. Special thanks to Jo, who really did everything in her power to help us organise our special day in the middle of the pandemic. My family is from Spain and Carberry let us wait to give final numbers etc to the last minute in case the restrictions lifted and more people could come. They were also really accommodating in terms of dietary requirements (I had a guest give me special thanks for this) and in general everyone we talked to loved the food. On top of an extensive drink menu there were plenty of interesting non-alcoholic drink options for teetotal/pregnant people & teens, which we really appreciated. Lyndsay, from our first visit to Carberry we knew we were in safe hands - you were so helpful and straightforward, and despite the cross-cultural complications of our wedding, you always had a solution on hand. Kirsty, you took over seamlessly and were so friendly and reassuring in the weeks leading up to the big day, not to mention your endless patience with our last-minute changes! And on the day itself, everything went so perfectly - so many of our guests kept telling us how well-organised everything was, and how great the staff were. From the start of Sunday until the bus pulled away on Tuesday morning, everyone had an amazing time - including us!
