Laura, Lauren and John are the best at what they do and our day would never have been the same without them. Nothing is too much to ask for and every detail was covered, making the whole experience so special. The staff at Abbey house went above and beyond for us & all our guests. We decided to start our wedding weekend with a pre wedding BBQ and end with a farewell breakfast the following morning - in which the service, food & quality was amazing throughout. Every part of the wedding ran so smoothly. Every guest complimented Abbey House - all hotel rooms, facilities, food & staff are fantastic. Laura, Lauren & John looked after our guests all day and our guests spoke so highly of them. Abbey House is the most stunning wedding venue & the wedding coordinators

We had our wedding on the 30/05/2026 with Laura as our main wedding co-ordinator. We could not ever have imagined our day would have gone as beautifully and faultless as it did. From day one Laura and the team have been fantastic, nothing has ever been to much hassle and they ensured our day was stress free. From checking on the husband in the morning and giving him extra words and a drink to ease his nerves, to ensuring we had our favourite drinks all day. We came from out of town and the value for money at Abbey house is fantastic! We where give a discount code for guest ( also out of town) the extras included in the package we picked saved us alot of money. Our daughter's wedding was absolutely incredible. We made a weekend of it and all of our guests absolutely enjoyed every moment, incredible venue, the very conscientious staff that everybody thought were brilliant, the hotel rooms and all the very tasty food. Nobody could have beaten this venue and everybody commented on the professionalism of all staff across areas from housekeeping, restaurant, bar and wedding staff. Our daughter turned things on their head as she and her husband to be wanted things a little different, lots of white flowers, different entrances, tattooist, pianist, painter, lego, Dior, the band, the singer, nothing was too much trouble and everything went without a hitch. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and we can’t thank the team enough! The venue was simply stunning – even in the rain it looked magical, and it was dressed so beautifully. We got married at Abbey House a couple of days ago and it was incredible. I cannot put into words how amazing the team are, Lauren you are fantastic at your job. You go above and beyond & nothing is too much trouble. From the start of the wedding process to the end, she was amazing from replying so quickly, to giving all the information we need & running the day. We then booked our wedding and Laura and Lauren were always on hand to guide us through every step of the process. Where do I even begin? Abbey House Hotel and Gardens is truly something else. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was absolutely perfect. The venue itself is simply stunning – beautifully maintained grounds, elegant interiors, and an atmosphere that made our special day feel like something out of a fairytale. But what made it unforgettable were the people. Every single member of staff was warm, friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel special – right down to the amazing housekeeping team. I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Lauren and Laura, our wedding coordinators. These two incredible women were the calm in the chaos. From our very first meeting, they had a gentle, reassuring presence that made us feel instantly at ease. Through all the planning, questions, and last-minute worries, they were there – steady, kind, and always ready to help. It felt like having two friends by our side who genuinely cared about making our day perfect. I honestly don’t know how we would have managed without them. Also, a special mention to Angie, one of the housekeepers – such a lovely, down-to-earth woman who brightened every morning with her smile – and to the manager, whose professionalism and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. From meeting Lauren at the Lake District Wedding show to having our first breakfast as a married couple, the whole process was just incredible & faultless. I had a list of places that I dreamt of getting married, but after visiting Abbey House, we completely fell in love. We had the most amazing wedding at Abbey House on Sunday 18th August. I could not thank the wedding team enough, especially Lauren who was like a breath of fresh air from the beginning to end. We had the most perfect wedding at Abbey House Hotel. Laura and Lauren the wedding coordinators were just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our woodland wedding dreams a reality. The attention to detail was just phenomenal from the decor to the food and the overall service that we and our guests received. They really did think of everything and even helped us arrange a pre-wedding celebration meal the evening before the wedding for our family and friends that had travelled up and gave us our own private dining experience. All the staff at Abbey House went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even let us plant a sausage in the gardens in the hope of good weather for our wedding (it worked). The food was amazing and it was such a nice touch to be able to offer our guests a variety of dishes for our wedding breakfast rather than a set meal. The other wedding suppliers that the coordinators recommended was so helpful as well when planning a wedding in an area not local to us. The grounds are beautiful (hence why we wanted an outdoor wedding) and just a short stroll takes you to the Abbey ruins. The rooms are next level in terms of decor and cleanliness and the honeymoon suites are just incredible. We will 100% return for our 1 year wedding anniversary, if not before. Firstly, a HUGE thank you to all three of you. Lauren and Laura, you were both unbelievably fantastic in the planning process, planning a wedding throws so many obstacles in your way that you absolutely do not anticipate when you book your special day. However, Michael and I were extremely fortunate to have such supportive and caring people at the other end of the phone if we needed it in yourselves. We’ve said right from the beginning of the process that the one thing we got “right” was our venue at Abbey House and when the day finally came around our thoughts on this were cemented! From start to finish, it felt flawless! Nothing at all was too much to ask or to handle and we really felt like we could relax because you guys were taking care of everything to the highest of standards! Our guests have complimented the venue so much since the day, they’ve commented on the beautiful building and surroundings, the amazing food, the friendly and approachable service and how everything felt so seamless. In our opinion you guys are the best in the business and it’s absolutely clear that the three of you love your jobs and you do absolutely everything you can to ensure your bride and grooms have the day of their dreams. Abbey House are just amazing. Not only were they massively accommodating during a pandemic when we had to postpone, they were excellent in the build up to the wedding, ensuring our day went perfectly. The staff are so lovely and approachable, and the venue itself is just beautiful. If there were any issues on our day, myself and my husband wouldn’t have known due to the expertise of the staff.
