Woodborough Hall could not have been a better wedding venue for us. We must have visited every venue in Nottinghamshire and nothing really clicked with what we were looking for. Then we came here and it was perfect - exactly the cosy but beautiful venue we wanted, which would work well in both the rain and sunshine. We opted for the ‘twilight’ wedding which had everything we wanted: a later ceremony, less formal food and straight to the disco! In the run up to the wedding Jenny, Abigail and the team were absolutely brilliant, answering every minute, anxious question we had with outstanding friendliness and professionalism. On the day itself they were so supportive and wonderful, making the wedding run smoothly so that we didn’t need to worry about anything and could just enjoy the day. Also did I mention the food?! It was absolutely incredible, especially considering there were quite a variety of dietary needs to accommodate. A month later people are still mentioning the grazing boards to me!!

From the very beginning of the planning process right through to the big day itself, everything was absolutely brilliant. Our wedding day was absolutely all we could have wanted and more from start to finish. We enquired in Jan 2024 about an intimate October Twilight wedding for 45 guests and honestly the girls we just so helpful from that point onwards. Nothing was too much trouble, every question was answered (and there were a lot of questions) and we felt really well looked after throughout. All the staff at Woodborough Hall are so incredibly lovely, and so wonderful at what they do- this is something our guests commented on after the wedding! We were kindly able to set up the night before as the orangery wasn’t in use. The staff couldn’t do enough to help bring our vision to life, meaning we could get ready on our wedding day knowing everything was in place and ready to go. With us having our wedding in October we were a bit worried about the British weather so created a plan for both wet and dry weather. Fortunately we had lovely weather so we were able to spill out onto the patio during the canapé reception allowing our guests to enjoy the beautiful grounds. We returned to the orangery for our stunning wedding breakfast, honestly we’ve no idea how the kitchen staff did it- Our guests still talk to us about how beautiful the meal was and that it’s the best wedding meal they’ve had! Which is amazing as the food was so important to us when choosing our venue. We then had an evening of cocktails and music, along with a gorgeous cheese board, which went down an absolute treat. Our guest left and our immediate family stayed in the beautiful suites at Woodborough Hall, which are nothing short of incredible. We were truly overwhelmed with how perfect our wedding day was at Woodborough Hall. From our first show round, Samantha was great at offering different ideas and options for our day. We went for the twilight package which meant we got married in the orangery at 4pm, had canapés, photos and speeches, and then the most incredible buffet once the evening guests joined us. We had the most perfect day from start to finish. We had a twilight package and kept it very small and simple. Had 22 guests and chose to have the ceremony and wedding breakfast only. All the staff helped to make this achievable. Any questions I had, the girls were more than happy to answer them all and help with my worries. All the staff were lovely and helped with anything on the day. We were also allowed our little pup and this really completed our day! The chef Tom, helped us with our food. My partner has severe allergies and Tom helped us with everything. The food was amazing and we had no issues at all. We had an amazing partnership celebration at Woodborough Hall. We had looked around many venues in the Nottingham area over a period of months and at Woodborough Hall the combination of the beautiful building, garden surroundings, and the team made the final decision an easy one for us. From first meeting the events team at the hall through to everything going smoothly on the day, it was exceptionally well run from start to finish. The staff were all professional, friendly, always considerate of guests and nothing was too much trouble. Set up on the day was easy with the team allowing access early for suppliers, they liaised with them all directly which was a huge help, and were flexible with our time frame. The venue itself is a stunning building and has been tastefully renovated inside, providing both some period charm along with modern touches and worked perfectly for our day. The grounds were well maintained and gave us plenty of space for outdoor games, photographs, or quiet time for those needing a little space through a busy day. The indoor space was practical as well as beautiful, and we used the dining room upstairs with its stunning timber framed features for our ceremony and post-ceremony drinks for about 35 people. The weather was fab and we welcomed the remaining 90 guests in the garden and on the patio area adjacent to the orangery with drinks and canapés. We had a buffet rather than a traditional sit down meal, served in the orangery with an informal seating arrangement. The food was first class and the team had really listened to our input on what we wanted to be included. There was plenty to eat for everyone with dishes being topped up by staff, and the team had worked with the external supplier for delivery and set up of our desserts and cake. The evening entertainment of a band and DJ set were held in the bar area that has a more intimate feel to it, allowing guests to drift through the different spaces of snug, garden, patio or to hit the dance floor. A great combination of spaces that worked for guests to make them feel comfortable and have a fun evening whatever they wanted to do. Again, during this time the staff all worked incredibly hard to look after everyone, including late evening sausage sandwiches for those having burnt all those calories on the dance floor! At the end of the night taxis arrived and with the venue being closer than you think to the centre of Nottingham not too expensive for a ride back. For those staying in the beautifully appointed rooms, a drift upstairs for a good nights rest on comfortable beds, before a slap up full English or continental breakfast served in the dining room the next morning. Whilst we were sleeping the team and the night porter cleared decorations, tidied everything up and packed it ready for collection by suppliers or for us to take back home. Throughout the planning, setting up and the day itself the team were excellent, supportive and thoughtful. We felt like they listened to what we wanted, really took care of us, and cared that the day was as good as it could possibly have been.
