From the wine tasting session with Steve, to the experience evening with other couples sampling the venue all dressed, with a full meal and canapés to the day itself, we felt cared for and made to feel extremely special. One of the things my Husband I loved sbout this venue, even stripped down to its natural beauty, you dont need lots of venue dressing, unless you really wanted it, we opted for very minimal dressing. From the first viewing, we just fell in love. We asked for a few bespoke menu changes ( including an off the menu dessert) and the team were incredibly accommodating, even setting aside any leftovers for us in the Jasmine cottage to enjoy after the party finished 😍 the whole day ran so smoothly, I cannot thank everyone enough. As a OCD planner myself, i was worried about timings but the team made it so effortless for me to just go with the flow as they handled everything. Special shout to Charis, for answering all my worries so quickly and kindly( there were a few 🤣) All our guests complimented us in the venue and in the incredible food and atmosphere. They also cater for children so well, the goodie bags at the canapés and drinks reception went down very well. We also hired the tipsy truck and again, our guests loved this! I had the privilege of being the first bride to use the new prep room and had a nice relaxing morning getting ready with my bridal party. It was great to be onsite, getting ready. We got married at Upwaltham Barns on 2nd May. What a fabulous day. We fell in love with the venue when we went to view and from that moment there was no point looking at any other venues. Right from the start we were made to feel special and encouraged to book our day in a way that matched us as a couple. This ensured that we felt like individuals and made our day unique. I absolutely love working at Upwaltham Barns! As a wedding photographer, it’s such a joy to work at a venue that's not only completely stunning with cottage garden vibes but also logistically brilliant. Everything is within easy reach, group photo spots are nearby so guests don’t have to wander far, and couples can get a huge variety of portraits without having to disappear for hours. The outdoor ceremony space is also a gorgeous, alternative for the 'I dos.' surrounded by hills & countryside. One of my favorite features has to be the wildflower meadow, it offers such stunning views of the South Downs and makes the perfect spot for golden hour portraits and it's also really close to the venue. Upwaltham Barns hosted a wonderful day for my son & daughter-in-law at the end of May. Everyone on the team was attentive, friendly, helpful and ready to go the extra mile for us. A personal thanks from me to Steve, who came out from behind the bar to fix my buttonhole, and to Marsha, who calmly kept me informed and in check through my MC duties on the day! The whole team did a great job, taking care of us in a way that showed they know how to help make the day as good as it can be, while also making us feel they were pleased to be a part of our happy occasion! The venue is very well set-up, with two capacious barns, a large & very picturesque courtyard for confetti and cake, as well as more intimate bar and seating areas that come in to their own as the day progresses. Finally, we were very lucky with the weather & were able to make the most of the beautiful setting. We've yet to see pictures from the official photographer, but the barns, the courtyard, the cottage buildings & the entry archway all made for lovely backdrops for our amateur efforts. We recently had our wedding at Upwaltham and we couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you Nicola and her family. This venue and their staff have the ability of making you feel like you are the only wedding they are ever doing! We honestly couldnt put into words how good the day was, and the food, and the staff . The venue: is beautiful, the surroundings are lovely, and the two barns are gorgeous, the courtyard is the perfect place for drinks reception. There are enough places for guests to go to during the day that the whole day felt interesting and exciting. There is also an amazing moroccan snug area which our guests loved. The ceremony barn is beautiful and bright and warm!! The whole venue is so lovely and warm- this was important to us as our wedding was in March. The staff : Were all professional, friendly, smart and helpful. There is an on the day coordinator and a pre-wedding coordinator both of which were fantastic, no ask to big or small, Abbie helped us in the lead up and was so organised and thorough. Then on the day we had Ann who was wonderful and made sure we didnt miss out on anything ! Food: the food was fantastic! and there was so much of it!! All of it was delicious, they did an amazing job. We made our own personalised starter which the kitchen designed from a recipe I sent them with a special haggis and then we had roast chicken which came with all the trimmings, and was delicious. This venue also has the catering and bar sorted as they are three separate businesses run by one family so makes it an all in one package and they all have amazing communication with each other. The location is stunning and the venue is very flexible with inside and outside areas, it’s rained most of my wedding and the venue accommodated this to the point where it wasn’t noticed. The staff are amazing and very attentive both before and during the day. Everything went without issue and they were able to accommodate requests. The meal was amazing and everyone complemented it, they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, this all happened seamlessly without any stress. The flooring in the barn works as a dance floor and we had a 4 piece band for the night. We stayed on site in the cottage overnight which is beautiful and had an amazing breakfast the next day. The staff packed everything away into boxes so the only thing to do the next day was to load up the car.
