Ty Afon - River House

Beddgelert is a very special place for us. So when looking at wedding venues Ty Afon was top of our list and we arranged a viewing. After the viewing, we knew it was the perfect wedding venue for our celebrations and reception. Emma and Regan are so welcoming, the staff friendly, helpful and efficient, the venue is beautifully decorated, and the location is truly stunning! We hired the entire venue for 3 days and from then on Helen, Emma, Regan and the team guided us in planning our wedding from menu and drinks choices, room layouts, florists hair stylists, and so much more. Their hands on approach took away any worries that we may have had, especially as we live over 200 miles away from Beddgelert. From the moment we arrived, we felt that the whole team at Ty Afon truly cared about ensuring that we had the most perfect of wedding celebrations; whether it be the spectacular food platters and welcome drinks on the first evening, getting ready to go to church in a serene environment, wonderful cocktails on the terrace with our friends and family, the beautiful wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. We spent a very short time looking online for a wedding venue and Ty Afon ended up being the only one we viewed in-person since we fell in love with the location as soon as we arrived. The village of Beddgelert found in the centre of the Eryri national park is right on the doorstep of Ty Afon while still maintaining a private atmosphere. This is the perfect venue for lovers of the outdoors and the option to have your ceremony held outside on the terrace provides the most amazing views, surrounded by mountains on all sides with the quaint buildings of the village visible in the near-distance. All of the staff are such lovely people and once we got chatting to them we knew that they would happily put the work in to make our wedding day fit our vision perfectly. And they did! Our day was perfect from arrival on Friday through to leaving. Everything we could've expected or needed was provided for us promptly and with a smile. I fell in love with Ty Afon the first time I saw it. Not only is the venue itself stunning on a regular day and very much worth a stay at any time of year, it is surrounded by absolutely magical views in one of the most beautiful parts of Snowdonia. All of our wedding guests were absolutely blown away despite it being a bit of a drive for a few of them. It was definitely worth the journey - plus there is plenty of accommodation in the wonderful nearby village Beddgelert so many guests can stay within a 10 minute walk to the venue. The owners of Ty Afon, Emma and Regan, take genuine pride in what they do and they have managed to create a wonderful wedding venue that any couple would be lucky to get married at. We had 40ish guests and it was the perfect size for a small-medium wedding like ours, (and I’m sure a larger wedding would work amazingly well too) and you can tailor it to some extent to really bring out your personality on your wedding day. We had a very specific vision for our wedding and Emma and Regan, and all the staff at Ty Afon, went above and beyond to help us make it a reality - they were so helpful and understanding throughout the whole process, even finding ways to reduce costs for us wherever they could. Where to begin?! Emma, Regan and the whole Tŷ Afon team were fantastic from day 1. We can’t believe how much they’ve transformed the place since we first went to meet them, it’s truly remarkable! We had no idea of where to start but Emma supported us through the whole process step-by-step so that when it came to the day itself, it felt so relaxed (at least for us, I’m sure they were a little more stressed!) We are really pleased that we chose to have our welcome dinner the night before the wedding at Tŷ Afon with the wedding party and family, it was so chilled and friendly and the sharing table was absolutely epic! The venue was absolutely perfect for us and being able to have our wedding ceremony on the rear terrace overlooking the beautiful Glaslyn valley just topped it off! Everyone was so helpful, accommodating and friendly and they all seemed to be truly invested in our day which was so personal to us, they even went out of the way to make our four-legged friend feel at home!

Ty Afon is simply the most magical venue I could have imagined to host our special day. Thank you so much for everything, from making us all feel so comfortable and at ease, the attention to every detail, the care you showed to us both and our family and guests, the absolutely stunning venue in the most fantastic of surroundings.………..
