We had the most perfect wedding day at The Oaks and genuinely couldn't have asked for a better venue. Anna, Julie, Rianna and the whole team were fantastic throughout the planning process and on the day itself. They were always happy to answer our questions and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. So much happened behind the scenes that we weren't even aware of, allowing us to completely relax and enjoy every moment. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. We were lucky enough to have our ceremony in the Enchanted Woodland, which was nothing short of magical. Hearing the birdsong and being surrounded by greenery made it feel like we were in another world. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful and unique the venue was. The rest of the day was spent in the main venue, which was the perfect space for our reception. Oaks review We recently had our wedding at The Oaks and couldn’t fault the whole process from start to finish. From the moment we enquired with the venue we were met with such kindness from the team that it made choosing the venue an easy decision. We could tell from our first visit that Julie takes so much pride in her lovely venue and the sense of it being a family business is really felt. The venue itself is stunning, the grounds, bridal room and main room made for some gorgeous photographs, we even managed to sit on the bar and have some taken! We decided to get married under the pergola and the scenery was amazing even on a very blustery day. Julie, Rianna and Anna all made our wedding day perfect. Anna, your kindness whilst I was getting ready and worrying about the weather will never be forgotten. You reassured me right up to the last minute that you would do everything you could to get us married outdoors and you did just that! We pulled the ceremony forwards 15 minutes and managed to dodge the rain. You really are a superstar! Julie gave myself and my husband a lift to the hotel afterwards as there was a mix up with some taxis. It’s the little things that really make this venue so special. We just had our wedding at the oak barn and the whole day was magical. It is a beautiful venue and made all the more special by the staff, who can’t do enough to help you. They do a lot of things for you that I am sure are outside of the scope of their job description! Rianna and Julie go above and beyond to give you the wedding of your dreams and it feels extremely personal.

We couldn’t recommend The Oaks more highly as a wedding venue. From start to finish, our day was flawless thanks to the incredible staff who made everything run smoothly and effortlessly. The venue itself was everything we’d hoped for: full of character, beautifully designed, and packed with thoughtful features that made the experience unforgettable. We recently held our wedding at The Oaks and could not be more impressed with the service we received from the day we came to view the venue to the days after the wedding. The Oaks were there to answer any questions we had and put any worried at ease, not that we had many worries when it came to the venue as they had everything in hand. If you're looking for the perfect rustic wedding venue, The Oaks is the place. We cannot thank The Oaks team enough from viewing, booking, preparations and everything on our big day. Due to being a family run business, The Oaks allowed us to have access to the venue the day before the wedding to set up and the day after to collect any belongings. This was perfect as it allowed us to be completely relaxed on our wedding day, not having to worry about sorting anything at the end of the night. It saddens me to write this review, but I don't want others to have the same experience. Our good friends got married here in 2024 - my husband was a groomsman so I was in the loop of the planning process. We all loved the look of venue! It is a great space, in a great location. What let it down was the staff in charge. The Bride & Groom said the venue was amazing when they toured it. They made it clear that they didn't have a lot of extra cash to spend on drinks packages etc, and would be diy-ing as much as possible. Once they'd paid the deposit, the venue started to become extremely rude. There was no flexibilitty about leaving things there after the wedding, to collect the next morning - despite the fact that there was no event on the next day. Don't be fooled by the llamas - on your day they will be OFF LIMITS to guests. Myself and others were told off for standing by the field (we weren't even feeding them - just standing there chatting looking over the fence). Prior to the drinks reception, guests also weren't allowed to stand in front of the venue (on the swings/gravel car park) chatting when we arrived, which was bit odd. Everyone was ushered inside by the coordinator. It felt like being at school with a teacher prowling the playground to tell you off for standing in certain areas! The coordinator herself was shocingly unprofessional. I would never judge another woman for clothing, but at a wedding, you'd expect staff to at least be smart casual if they are going to be walking in amongst your guests the whole time. When everyone's dressed up, and someone is prowling around in a dirty fleece telling them off, it looks unprofessional. The venue coordinator's attitude was incredibly unkind. Whilst bridal party photos were being taken, the coordinator and two of the younger staff were stood by the swings MAKING FUN OF the poses the bridal party were doing. I'm not joking - they were sniggering to themselves about the poses being too cliche/cheesy etc etc... this was within earshot of myself and about 3 other guests. I was actually so hurt and upset by this. She also had an issue with the couple wanting to bring DIY sweets/treats for the after-party - even though this had initally not been an issue when they booked. The bar would also not allow guests to purchase teas/coffees at the bar, because the couple not paid extra for the coffee package. Finally, once it was the evening/dancing time, the staff actually cleared away guests' possessions without telling anyone, whilst we were dancing. I understand they were keen to get home and wanted to take the dining tables down - but sentimental cards, groomsmens gifts and favours were all swept away and put in their office without us being told. We were sober, so realised that things were missing - and had to chase down staff to ask where cards etc had been taken. Twice this happened! It meant we couldn't relax and party - we were keeping an eye out because things were just disappearing! This being said, our friends who got married are such lovely, genuine people. The day was beautiful because of their beautiful relationship and kind hearts. We were there to celebrate them the bad venue staff won't ruin the amazing once-in-a-lifetime day it was. I don't know where to begin to say how perfect the team at The Oaks made our day for us. There are probably too many things I could manage to mention so I've tried to list a few of the key highlights for us. The first is the venue location itself, set in a stunning countryside location surrounded by woodland, fields and the lake, its just perfect. Furthermore, the building itself is beautiful and fabulously maintained. I'd also like to add that everything was spotless. This includes the venue itself, the outside, the furniture and decor, and the bar, glasses etc. The team were great and there were many staff on hand to help for our day. Julie, Rianna and a number of other team members were present throughout the whole day ensuring the specifics of the day went perfectly to plan. We opted for the additional foliage package and it was definitely worth it. Rianna is incredibly skillful with these decorations on the tables, foliage archway and ceremony decorations were perfect. I could also see how much effort and time was put into organising these and it was really much appreciated and it all looks fantastic on the photos. The partnership with Ridgway Caterers definitely works! We received so much feedback from guests about how much they loved both the wedding breakfast and the evening food. I think it helps that there is a long-standing relationship between the venue and the caterers that makes this whole process absolutely seamless. We'd also like to thank the team for making our dream of and outside woodland wedding come true. We felt like they were as excited and invested in making this happen for us as we were and it was just beautiful! It was also great to have the opportunity to go to the venue the day before to set up and not have to worry about collecting all our things at the end of the night as we could go back the next day to collect these (we had manage to accumulate a lot of things over the day and the team did a great job of collating everything for us to collect the next morning). The Oaks is such a stunning, incredible venue! We booked our wedding with them 18 months before the big day and they were so helpful from day one. They communicated everything and were so helpful and understanding. In the lead up, I arranged to go in and trial some table decor ideas which was super helpful. We had a meeting to run through the order of the day about a month before which helped to put us at ease before the day. Rianna and Julie made every step of the planning process a dream. My husband and I are still absolutely beaming at how perfect our wedding was! From the minute we viewed this venue we knew it was absolutely perfect for us. The secluded, rustic woodland barn is so different from anything else locally. As a couple, you are made to feel so special. From a private, personal viewing. To being the only wedding booked all weekend. This means you have time the day before to set up and the day after to clear up. This was super special to us meaning we didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day. The team are so well organised meaning that they are constantly keeping the place tidy and on schedule. They collected everything up at the end making it super easy on a hangover to just swoop everything in to the car. My visions were completely embraced and the team made it so easy for me to have the decor etc how I wanted. They even went above and beyond for me adding some extra decor in the log barn as it was too cold for us to get married outside, as we had initially planned. Another thing that made it really special was being able to have our Labrador there who was the cutest ring bearer ever seen. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue and lots of people commented on this! Our only little niggle was that after the meal, when the tables were cleared, the wine that hadn’t been drunk yet was all taken away. We had paid the venue prices for it and I think some were nearly full bottles. We never noticed this at the time and it didn’t impact our day, it was just feedback from our guests. If we had known this we may not have ordered as much wine. The most special place and I wish we could do it all over again.
