Everything about The Oak Tree of Peover is just phenomenal. From the scenic views, to the amazing staff and the gorgeous interior, we couldn’t recommend it more! Our wedding here was very intimate, so we had a small guest list and acknowledge that less staff would be needed for our wedding. What we didn't anticipate was to have only two staff members for the evening who was often out of sight (sitting behind the bar on the floor talking) and picking at the decor that we brought (one staff member was taking flowers from the garlands we brought and pulling petals out of it when I came into the bar). I felt let down by the venue. Our wedding coordinator Tracy left in the afternoon (which she had informed us about in our final wedding meeting) but I thought that we would have been left in good hands. The staff failed to use our designated playlists that we provided on a spare phone which had clearly labelled playlists for each part of the day. Guests often heard repeated songs or no music whatsoever when neither of the staff members would move the music onto the next playlist. Towards the end of the night, they ended up taking our phone off and using their own music. Our wedding breakfast was half in silence, even though I provided a playlist to play, which made it slightly awkward with it being such an intimate wedding. If you're looking for that rustic but classy look, then this venue is perfect! The rooms are large and bright with their own greenery running through the oak beams. The outdoor space is fantastic! (We didn't quite get the weather for the ceremony but it made for a great group picture area when the sun eventually made its appearance!). The outdoor seating areas made for a cosy place the chill in front of the fires just out of reach from any rain. From fluffing my dress before the aisle walk, to helping us keep calm with a cake fiasco! We cannot thank the staff enough for making our day so special and running smoothly. They had super quick response times to any questions we had and helped us through any ideas we had thought of. We look forward to having a visit around our anniversary!
