We had an absolutely fantastic wedding at the Master Builders House! This one-of-a-kind venue is a real showstopper, and all our guests were blown away by the stunning views. Although the weather the night before meant our ceremony had to be held indoors, it turned out perfectly—creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that felt really special. The food was exceptional (even our Michelin-starred chef guest commented on the quality!), and the whole team managed a seamless turnaround for the evening celebrations, letting us party late into the night. We had our wedding at the Master Builders House in Buckler’s Hard in March, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! From start to finish, the staff were incredible – so helpful, friendly, and professional. They made sure everything ran smoothly, taking all the stress out of the day so we could just enjoy every moment. A special thank you to Lizzie, who took over shortly before our wedding. She put us completely at ease and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. Also a big thank you to Chris, the general manager, for meeting with us beforehand and being there on the day to ensure it all went to plan. The morning of the wedding, while getting ready with the girls, the team were amazing – bringing up a breakfast platter, tea, coffee, and anything else we needed. They made sure we had everything we wanted to feel relaxed and looked after, and it really set the tone for the day. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful – full of charm and character, and it was spotless throughout. The view down to the river with the boats just in front is truly stunning and creates the most magical setting, especially for photos. It’s such a peaceful, timeless place and we fell in love with it from our first visit. The team put out all of our décor exactly as we’d hoped, and somehow made it look even better than we’d imagined! The bridal suite and all the rooms were gorgeous – clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. All of our guests stayed at the hotel for two nights and everyone had a great experience. We also booked Henry’s pub for the night before the wedding so we could have a relaxed evening with all our guests, and it was just perfect. The food was excellent and Lizzie made everything so easy when it came to ordering for a large group. One lovely bonus was being able to use the Chichester Room as a games room during the wedding day – it was a real hit with our guests, especially with the March weather being a little chilly! We looked at several venues on our wedding planning journey, and found a couple we really liked. Then we looked at Master Builder's House. There were quantifiable qualities that we liked, such as the spaces, large open room for the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Spacious yet cosy lounge with a warming fire and comfortable sofas, for people to chat and relax. The outside space and views. Lovely individual rooms, and plenty of accommodation for our family and friends to stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. But something else kept drawing us back. We had a second look around on a cold, dull and rainy day, but as soon as we stepped into the hotel it felt like walking into a hug. The staff welcomed us into the lounge with a drink in front of the fire, the lights twinkled and it was so cosy. As our wedding was planned for 1st November we knew this was the worst the weather could be and it would not affect our day at all. Ana and Laura planned our day with us, supporting our choices and making suggestions. They were always easy to contact and helpful. They liaised with our venue dresser, registrar, florist, photographer, baker, magician, band and string quartet ensuring the whole day ran smoothly. On our wedding day my hair and makeup artist was shown to my room to set up ready for me, and offered a drink. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole day flowed perfectly. The meal was lovely and arrived in a timely fashion, we had a few people with allergies and they were catered for without any issues. The evening buffet was tasty and plentiful. When we went to our room we had a lovely surprise,a little bear waiting on our bed for us, it was wearing a vest embroidered with Master Builders House on the front, What I didn't notice until I got home was that it had been personalised on the back with our names and wedding date. We didn’t go and see many wedding venue we knew almost instantly that The Master Builder’s House was the perfect venue for us. It was cozy and had the perfect autumnal vibe we were searching for. Ana and Laura were fantastic through the planning process and were really flexible in terms of making our day exactly what we wanted. They were really responsive and made us feel like our wedding was really important and not just one of a number of weddings they were hosting this year. We would thoroughly recommend the master builders as a wedding venue. Not only is the venue lovely and offers a picturesque setting and photo opportunities by the water it also has a variety of packages to suit budgets. We had loads of options to choose from and could create our ideal day! Laura (wedding coordinator) was amazing and helped us throughout with the help of Ana. Their knowledge and expertise was fundamental in the run up and they were also amazing on the day, coordinating suppliers and flow of our schedule. We were lucky enough to have our evening wedding reception at a family barn, so wanted to have our ceremony and afternoon at The Master Builders, and they were so accommodating and happy to adapt their usual package to ensure our day was bespoke to us.
