Just wow, we had the most amazing wedding day and we were so thrilled to have it at Chatham Dockyard! The biggest shout out goes to all the staff for always going the extra mile. Chloe was so organised and answered all my questions promptly during the planning stages (booked in February 2022, married October 2023). Lisa and Alison were so helpful during set up day before the wedding and the staff all did a stunning job to keep the day running smoothly. They put their heart and soul into the day, thank you all so much! Our initial plan was to get married on the HMS Gannet, but due to unpredictable weather we got married upstairs in the Sunne room instead. In the end it really worked out so much better as it is such an incredible and intimate space. Both we and our guests were so happy with the commissioners house as a reception venue - the expanse of the ground floor made it so easy for people to find their space if they wanted to party in the ballroom or have a good conversation with relatives in the marquee further away from the mus

We highly recommend having a wedding at the Historic Dockyard. We were married on HMS Gannett in August and from the start of our initial contact, through every step of the way, we were so happy with every staff members professionalism and nothing was too much trouble for anyone.

We are so grateful to everyone at The Commissioners House & Gardens, we loved having our wedding and reception at this beautiful, unique venue. There was plenty of room upstairs for us all to get ready for the day, and lovely areas throughout the Dockyard for pictures. The organising process felt smoother towards the end of organising when we had support from Ruxandra who went above and beyond to help! Everyone complimented the venue and shared how beautifully it had been styled by All You Need Wedding Styling and Floristry. We bought a package with the venue which included pastries, fruit, orange juice, and Prosecco whilst we got ready, however I would not recommend this, the pastries were inedible, very wet and soggy, the fruit consisted of a few apples and oranges, and the orange juice and water wasn’t topped up. The buffet was also very expensive for the amount of food that was supplied, we wish we had looked around for food suppliers. We cannot fault Ru

The staff were very friendly and eager to give us the best wedding ever just the way we wanted it. There’s ample space for guests in the reception. Only thing I would have changed is the seats behind the funnels on the ship as a couple of our guests couldn’t see us very well. Al

Our recent Wedding on HMS Gannet in Chatham Historic Dockyard was a magical day – we were so lucky with the weather even in mid-October ! Chloe and Ruxandra had given us all the info we needed and responded quickly (and patiently) to our many questions before the day. But we have to make a special mention of Lisa, Alison and everyone else involved on the day. We cannot thank them enough for their calm presence, for catering for our every need, for making everything run so smoothly and for making our guests feel so relaxed and happy throughout the day. One of our guests said they would rate these guys as 10 stars out of 5 ! Alison was there early and was all setup before the hair and makeup and bridesmaids starting arriving early. She made sure we were all topped up with pastries/drinks/prosecco – and happily helped us with numerous questions, and hunting for safety pins when we needed them. She definitely set the tone of calm, quiet efficiency which helped the nervous bride. When Lisa arrived, she helped us hugely with talking through details of the way things would unfold both on the ship and logistics of getting there etc. Lisa had this fantastic ability not only to make sure we had everything we wanted, but also to provide things we needed - before we even knew we needed them ! How does she even do that ? She is a real treasure ! Her calm manner continued into the evening, liaising not only with the caterers but also with the Band – it all ran so smoothly that I am sure there were many things she was doing that we were no

When somebody had told us about Historic Dockyard Chatham being a wedding venue, we were extremely intrigued as to what our day could look like. We emailed the events organiser and made an appointment to gonand see what our options were. This was just before the pandemic set in, so unfortunately our plans were put on hold- but we managed to go and look at Commissioner's House after the first lockdown was eased. We were absolutely thrilled with how beautiful the house and surroundings were. We booked our wedding for 30.07.2022. From the very first email/booking we could not have been any happier and the responsiveness from Olivia, Chloe and their team was 100%. Our dreams and plans for our special day were met with the utmost importance. Anything we asked for or needed was dealt with and delivered without any problems or issues. Our day was absolutely perfect and the Team were out of this world! Every single person who attended our wedding said how amazing the day was and how beautiful the venue was. We can honestly put our hands on our hearts and

It really was the best day of our lives. Everything from our initial meeting with Chloe right up until we went back the day after to collect our things was fantastic. The care, the attention to detail, the support and the welcoming and friendly attitude to all of our family and guests was first class. A special mention must go to Lisa who couldn’t do enough for me or for my family, she’s wonderful and a credit to the venue. Thank you for making our day so special.
