It’s knowing where to begin when it comes to talking about Dena and The Barn. We discovered the venue less than a month after we got engaged last year and instantly fell in love. It was the first and last venue we viewed and we instantly booked it. From 1st March 2025, Dena has been an addition to our lives, talking every little detail and fully embracing Elliott’s dynamic imagination until we finally created the perfect vision. It felt like our second home as we had full control of what could and is happening. Dena was honest, transparent and has a good community of vendors to work alongside her. I honestly don’t know where to start to describe just how wonderful our wedding day was, from start to finish! It really was the most magical day, and we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the barn itself is stunning. It’s already decorated so beautifully that it creates the perfect relaxed, rustic barn wedding atmosphere without needing to do lots yourself. It’s also great to have the option of using all of the lovely décor pieces available as part of the package, which made everything so easy. One of the real highlights for us was the incredible setting. Dena drove us out to some amazing moorland locations for photographs, and the incredible views gave us the most beautiful backdrop to photographs that will always bring back memories of our day. The food was wonderful and we had so many comments from our guests saying it was some of the best wedding food they had ever had! The cocktail bar was also hugely popular and went down a treat. We had lots of children at our wedding, which can sometimes be tricky, but they absolutely loved it here. There’s a lovely outdoor space for them to play, but the biggest bonus has to be the animals. Dena allowed the children to help feed the animals and visit and interact with the horses and ponies in the stables. It was genuinely so special watching the little ones leading the ponies out of the stables. And it definitely wasn’t just the kids who loved it — the adults were just as excited about the animals! We were also able to have all of our family dogs with us for the ceremony and throughout the day, which meant so much to us as they’re such an important part of our lives. The whole atmosphere of the day was just perfect: wonderfully relaxed, laid-back and inclusive. Nothing felt stuffy or overly formal, and everyone was made to feel completely at home. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to help. But most of all, our day simply wouldn’t have come together in the way it did without the amazing Dena. From the very first moment we visited the barn and booked our wedding, she guided us through every step, sharing her wealth of experience and always offering advice when we needed it. She truly put her heart and soul into every detail and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best day possible. Just had our wedding here at the barn at higher Beardon on 16/8/25 From the minute I booked the barn, Dena was absolutely amazing! Always available to talk, text, give advise. She helped with our full set up & tear down also. The barn is just the most picturesque venue, rain or shine (or wind in our case!) We recently had our wedding day at the Barn. When we first began planning, we wanted intimate, meaningful and full of personal touches. From the moment I met Dena and stepped into the Barn back in February (even on a cold and blustery day!) I knew this was our venue and that Dena was the woman who would help bring our vision to life. The Barn is beautiful and incredibly versatile. Dena isn't precious about the décor and is very accommodating of individual vision and preference. Unfortunately shortly after we started planning our day, I lost my Dad, and wedding planning lost its spark. Dena was so supportive and encouraging while I adjusted my expectations for our day without both of my parents - offering advice and a sounding board from her years of experience, and from the warmth of her heart. We honestly couldn't thank Dena and her team enough for everything they did for us. They really went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. Our wedding at The Barn Higher Beardon, where do we start we had the most amazing wedding from start to finish, Dena was incredible to deal with throughout, Dena made sure we had everything we wanted from our horse being at the venue to our friends lorry being at the venue! Dena was so easy to contact throughout we was able to take our family members to the venue which was great to have everyone involved! Dena and all the family were so welcoming every time we visited and on the day the whole team were absolutely amazing and kept all our guests happy! Millie very kindly prepared a stable for our horse and was on hand on the day to help with anything we needed! It was lovely to be a part of setting up the venue and being able to be so involved. Everyone absolutely loved the venue and said how incredible it was and the atmosphere was just magical. My bridal team got ready in the accommodation there and it was perfect and great to have throughout the day especially for the oldies to have a rest on the sofas in there. The team kept the day flowing and extremely well organised nothing was too much to ask. The food well it really was just incredible our guests absolutely raved about the food especially the roast potatoes these were a hit and quite a few guests highlighted this in our guest book! [ ] Well what can I say about Dena and The Barn at Higher Beardon. We went to view the venue last August 2023 and our first impressions were wow! We put our own touch in the barn and with dena decorating it all looked stunning. Dena and her team are so friendly and helpful and went be above and beyond making our big day special to us. We wanted a stress free wedding and it sure was that. I(the bride) never got stressed because i knew everything looked incredible..Dena made sure everything was perfect for us and it was! The food was yummy and everyone enjoyed all of it. The bar had amazing choices of drinks achohol and non achohol/ soft drinks. My husband is a lorry driver and he asked dena if he could take his lorry for pictures we thought it might be too big to take but dena said yes and she organised it to be near the barn so we could get pictures. Dena and team helped us by getting a dj as we completely forgot it was bank hoilday weekend and everyone was booked but oh my the dj was incredible. He made a playlist with all our favourite songs, he played the piano when I walked down the aisle and while we were eating in the background was just perfect. I'm so glad we went with dena choice of dj. Also dena said she knew a photographer and we looked at his pictures he done for wedding before at the barn and they were gorgeous so dena helped us with all the contracting of photographer and dj. Then we needed a celebrant and of course dena said she knew one so we met the lovely hilary and what an amazing women she is. We met her 4/5 times before our big day and she listened to what we wanted in our ceremony and it was amazing no dry eye in the room. The parking was great, always someone out there to help people park and where to park even made a space for people who had leave early.. Everywhere was clean and tidy, the toilets were perfect as wasn't too far from the venue for people who couldn't walk too far. I can't recommend dena, team and the barn enough.
