Pynes House is a stunning country house wedding venue, set in its own 37-acre park in the Exe Valley, but still only three miles from all the convenience of Exeter. For winter weddings, enjoy the cosy romance of the gorgeous interiors, stunning views, and open log fires. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of Pynes House. The venue was the perfect size for our wedding of circa 80 guests. The support offered prior to our wedding day was invaluable in shaping the day that we wanted. The whole team are so friendly and knowledgeable offering their advice on what they feel will work b

We got married at Pynes House in October 2025, and it was truly everything we could have dreamed of and more. From the moment you arrive, the house is utterly breathtaking — every room and every finish is exquisitely considered and perfectly in keeping with the history of the house, creating a real sense of occasion and grandeur for the entire weekend. One of the things that made it so special was being able to fully immerse ourselves in the house. With 12 beautiful bedrooms, we were able to have 22 of our closest family and friends stay on site, which completely transformed the experience into a relaxed, joyful and unforgettable weekend rather than just a single day. The Pynes House team were exceptional from start to finish — warm, professional, calm and incredibly thoughtful. Nothing ever felt stressful; everything was handled seamlessly and with such genuine care that we were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment. Our guests were effusive about the venue, the atmosphere and the experience, and we honestly couldn’t recommend Pynes House highly enough. It is a truly magical place, and we wi

The gorgeous, stately yet cosy Pynes House formed the backdrop for our dream wedding in May 2025. It really was the perfect venue – set behind the rolling hills just outside of Exeter, the house exuded class and character and has been impeccably maintained. Just a 5-minute drive from Exeter St David’s station, its location couldn’t have been more convenient, although it always felt incredibly private thanks to a long driveway leading up to the house, lined by stately fir trees. Whilst spacious and versatile, it also retained warmth and cosiness due to its elegant proportions. The grounds were also spectacular; with the rose garden and wisteria really coming to life on a sunny spring day during our drinks reception. For our Saturday wedding, we loved being able to check in on Friday afternoon, checking out at midday on Sunday. Spending the whole weekend in the house with our closest family and friends made the whole occasion feel like an extended big house party. The Pynes House team were responsive, warm and approachable, providing clear instructions throughout and leading up to our big day – a quality we really appreciated given the uncertainties of wedding planning. A huge shoutout to Jay and the drinks team who went out of their way to make us a delicious lychee martini the moment we returned from church as newlyweds. It was the best day of our lives

We fell in love with every aspect of Pynes from our first viewing: its exquisite elegance and cosiness, the magnificent driveway, large romantic fireplaces, the grand staircase -perfect for a bridal entrance and the multiple gorgeously decorated guest rooms. For us, though, the people made our wedding at Pynes just as magical as the venue itself: From day one, Phoebe was on hand with recommendations and advice. Before we booked, we visited Pynes, and she helped us picture how our day could go in each room. Once we booked our date, the Pynes team were in touch with a list of FAQs, recommended suppliers and helpful tips. Again, Phoebe was on hand to answer any questions throughout our planning process and to ensure we accounted for everything we wanted to. She was incredible on the day, ensuring every moment was seamless and contributing to the celebratory mood; nothing seemed to trouble her; she even appeared with a drink in hand to help calm Hetty's nerves during a dress disaster, quickly turning the moment into a funny story. Our guests commented on how organised the day was, and we will safely say this is purely because of our outstanding suppliers, especially Phoebe. Closer to the day, we met Jay, who helped guide us through our drinks choices, including sourcing an incredible rose and ensuring Dan had a whiskey for toasting. Jay specialises in cocktails, which our guests were only too happy to sample. The Espresso martinis were some of the best we've ever had, and they certainly kept the party going all night, even after the early start! We loved extending our celebration over three days; having our closest friends and family stay with us the night before and recover with us the day after meant the world. The multiple rooms on the ground floor gave our guests space to celebrate how they wanted—from hide-and-seek in the rose garden to deep chats in the drawing room or partying the night away in the ballroom. The whole house overflowed with laughter and love. We both have treasured memories we will look back on for years to come. Thank you to all the team at Pynes for making our wedding feel

Our guests were blown away by Pynes House, it was so lovely on the day to hear their overwhelmingly positive experiences of staff and the surroundings. Everyone in the team worked exceptionally hard to bring our vision to life. Many of our friends have spoken about stressful they found the process of planning their wedding. But my husband and I felt totally supported by the whole team at Pynes, through every step of planning to the day itself. Jay the drinks manager was so helpful and accommodating with our bespoke requests. The team at Pickle Shack created an outstanding menu and the service was fantastic. We must also mention Ph

What an excellent wedding venue! We couldn't recommend it highly enough. They were so helpful with everything from planning to making sure everything ran perfectly on the day. Pynes house provided a wedding coordinator who was fantastic! You could tell she knew exactly what she was doing and everything was managed perfectly. Even down to having our little dog run down the aisle before the bride arrived! Many of the guests commented on how spectacular the venue is, and we couldn't agree more. It was like a fairy tale to be able to stay and get married in such a magnificent place, and to have all of our friends and family around us too. The accomodation is beautiful, from the bedrooms to the guest kitchen, Pynes felt like it was ours for the weekend and it was wonderful to have so many of the weddin

I was so nervous prior to my first visit to Pynes House; we had read so many fabulous reviews about this impressive venue, most of which detail love at first sight and I am so pleased to say, Pynes House did not disappoint. After so many unsuccessful venue searches and visits, from the minute car started to roll down the long and inviting driveway, we were in awe. The house is set within the most beautiful surroundings and is visually breathtaking. Each luxurious room is decorated to perfection and what every bride dreams of for their wedding night. Although Jon and I knew we wanted to marry outside, there was much less stress leading up to the day, as we knew the inside of the house was as beautiful as the outside. However, we were lucky enough to have the wedding we had always hoped for and it couldn't have been more perfect. Heather and Kate are so lovely and such a pleasure to work with. From the moment we first spoke, they were helpful, friendly and supportive and we couldn't have asked for more. Pyne

Beautiful venue, but be careful of the added extras! We got married on the 30th June 2018 and had the most wonderful time, however we found that you do need to budget quite a lot more than the initial price quoted as the venue do charge extra for quite a few things, I.e. music being on until 12pm, beds being made, bottle collection, £600 for an extra 3 hours on the Sunday etc. Just read the T&Cs carefully as we were caught out a week before the wedding being told we would be charged £500 extra for the music to be on until 12pm. They reduced it to £250 eventually but it left a sour taste in the mouth 7 days before the wedding. Overall, it was a beautiful venue and very well appointed both inside and out.
