I don’t know where to begin. We fell in love with Pentney abbey back in 2022 when we secured our date for November 2024. We visited the venue a fair few times on the opening days and fell in love with it all even more - we knew this is where we wanted to get married. 6 months before the wedding, you’re assigned a wedding planner & I truly believe we hit the jackpot with ours. Katherine Twiggs, you are amazing. I genuinely would’ve been lost with you. Your calmness, support, reassurance, kind & genuine ways weren’t unnoticed and were very much appreciated throughout the build up to our wedding and on the day itself. Kath, you went above and beyond to make sure every single wish of ours was fulfilled, your attention to detail & care was appreciated more than you’ll know. The whole UNV team were amazing from start to finish. The day was absolutely faultless. Any stress or worries which either of us had were taken away by the team and we were made to feel so very special. The food was delicious, we received so many compliments. And the thought behind the staff of not interrupting us on the dance floor with the evening food but putting it in the honeymoon suite for us to enjoy later, along with some cake & bubbles was grateful appreciated. We went with Unique Norfolk Venues at Pentney Abbey after an extensive search for our vision. We wanted our big day to be more than just our wedding day, we wanted it to be a wedding experience! Above all, we wanted our wedding to be stress free (as possible) for my beautiful bride! We loved so many different venues around Norfolk, however, Pentney Abbey was in a league of its own. The stunning rustic setting with a grand, historic gatehouse and beautiful barn; from our first visit we knew that Pentney Abbey would be perfect for our rustic, autumnal wedding. Over the two year duration of planning our big day, we enjoyed a food tasting and drink tasting day with UNV and their catering team which helped us make an informed decision about our menu and drinks. We met with loads of excellent suppliers hand picked by UNV numerous occasions so we could listen and take onboard advice and choose our decor. And correspondence from UNV couldn’t have been any easier. Our planner, Aiyana, was there for us from day one when we were allocated a planner. We had plenty of meetings whether that was in person or over the phone or video call. Aiyana really made us feel at ease and in full control; she made sure everything that needed to be done was done! She listened to our vision and what we wanted, pointing us in the right direction and worked hard. Aiyana ran the UNV team on the big day and made the wedding a truly, breathtaking, once in a lifetime experience! And credit to all the UNV staff who made the day go smoothly. I do need to mention the price tag. Over our extensive search we very quickly came to understand how expensive weddings are. Pentney Abbey is no exception and when you look on paper, yes, it is costly. Although, having mentioned the price tag, was it worth it? Absolutely, it was worth every penny! To say money well spent is an understatement because I couldn’t not have asked for a better day for my beautiful bride! In terms of what you get from a venue, a wedding package, a planner and staff to run the day, UNV at Pentney Abbey really did cover everything and more! Furthermore, looking the price tag and it is very easy to see how UNV and the team do make your wedding as stress free as possible and help you every step of the way, making the whole experience enjoyable and manageable. We researched some wedding venues online and it soon became clear that Pentney Abbey was our favourite, so we went to visit. We didn’t visit anywhere else as we fell in love! We loved how special the venue felt without feeling huge. We loved that there was a lot of freedom to personalise our day. Communication from all of the planning team was excellent and we were allocated our wedding planned Megan Culley. She was absolutely amazing. As well as commenting on how stunning the venue was, many guests commented on how smooth the day ran and that’s down to Megan and her team’s professionalism. My husband and I felt constantly looked after and nothing was too much for them to do. My mum in particular said she really noticed how attentive the staff were to us. We are still on cloud nine from having the perfect day thanks to the incredible team at Pentney Abbey. It was absolutely magical from setting up the day before to walking around the grounds the morning after. We could not believe all of the time, effort and attention to detail that had been made for us. We planned our UK celebration from our home in Wisconsin, USA. From the get-go the planning team adapted seamlessly from doing a virtual tour all the way through to planning sessions over zoom. The team were super responsive to every question, even before having our assigned planner six months out. When Maddy was assigned to us, nothing was too much trouble. Both my husband and I had serious health issues within our families and organizing our day often fell on the back burner. Maddy kept us on track while being patient and understanding. She allayed every fear, made recommendations based on her experience and solved every logistical problem along the way. Her dedication to making our day perfect by getting to truly know what perfect looked like for us shined through everything she did before, during and even after the day. I could write 500 paragraphs about the food alone. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The UNV team were so accommodating, always checking if people needed anything else. The portions were great. I wish I could go back and eat everything I missed due to all the adrenaline from the event. If you choose to have it, the accommodation is something that will impress all of your guests. Everyone, whether in the farmhouse, cottages and tents, were wowed by the beautiful countryside setting, comfort and amenities. It really did feel like we had rented out a castle and it's estate. We stayed at the Farmhouse in March this year. 3 Couples. The Farmhouse is absolutely perfect in every way. All of the rooms are beautiful and very well designed. The beds are just so comfortable, clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are exceptional with both modern and traditional features uniquely blended together. The whole place is very light, airy and spacious. The Farmhouse has everything you need for that perfect relaxing getaway with a fully equipped kitchen and gorgeous large dining area. From first meeting Lucy and the staff at Pentney, they were extremely helpful and put us at ease with a process we knew nothing about. All of our suppliers were contacted and Rachael went above and beyond when I requested a bowling alley made from bales of hay, on the wedding day, that’s exactly what we had. A year ago, we had vision in our heads of how we wanted our wedding to be, and on our wedding day, our expectations were surpassed and a lot of that is down to how well the day ran. Even friends and family commented on how much Lucy and the team did for us and how smoothly the day went. Every little part of the day went perfectly. We can’t thank Lucy enough for helping with our perfect day, she is extremely good at what she does. We had some issues with the weather which no one could control but again, this was dealt with professionally and without causing any stress to either of us. I can’t imagine the hard work that went in behind the scenes to make sure things went to well. The food was fantastic. We had some dietary requirements and this was all catering for fantastically. After the wedding, our guest commented that it was some of the best wedding good they had ever tasted. The accommodation was also great and it made for a fantastic weekend for all of the family. Everything was clean and tidy, the décor is amazing and the hampers that are provided are exactly what you need. We just wish we could do it all again- and if we did, we would choose Pentney without any hesitation.
