Nettlestead Place

Nettlestead Place is a stunning venue, the moment my partner, (now husband!) and I arrived we knew it was the place for us. The house itself is a gorgeous historic property which provides access to a large bridal suite which made getting ready on the day really convenient. It also has a unique 'Undercroft' which is a stone vaulted room where you can have your ceremony and is unlike anywhere else I have seen. It helped make our day so special to say our vows there. Alternatively you can have an outdoor ceremony in the beautiful rose garden, where we got to enjoy our photographs, as well as holding our drinks reception in the beautifully curated and colourful grounds, including the lovely wild meadow. As well as the picturesque house and gardens there is a spacious marquee where we had a wonderful wedding breakfast and then danced the night away. Having a separate dance floor area within the marquee was great as there was no need to get out of the way so the room could be cleared and changed over for the evening, everything just flowed seamlessly onwards. The staff were all so helpful throughout the day, and kept everything moving brilliantly, and the catering team and bar staff were really professional and their food and drinks all absolutely excellent. We also had great fun choosing our menu and wines at a tasting day earlier in the year. However none of our day would have been possible without the help of Sharon who is the guiding hand of the company and who was so patient and helpful in letting us visit several times so we could work out flower arrangements and table layout etc Sharon always made the process really clear and was very responsive to any new queries all from the moment of our first visit. Sharon also made sure the day itself was everything we could have wanted, and free of stress as Sharon liaised with all our suppliers and made sure everything arrived where and when it was needed. We are writing this 1 week after the best day of our lives!! Nettlestead Place was the first and only venue we visited, and we knew straight away that this was the place we would get married. From Sharon’s excellent communication throughout the whole planning period, and her warm and friendly approach, to stunning gardens, the beautiful undercroft and Lewis and his team of bar staff, we knew we were going to be in good hands. We truly enjoyed our absolute dream wedding at Nettlestead Place. As soon as we stepped through to the gardens, we knew 100% that this would be our venue. It’s totally stunning and I’m just so happy we found it and got married in the rose garden. Sharon was our wedding coordinator and she was amazing throughout – always answering my constant little questions (nothing was ever too big or small!) and was essential in helping us make sure the day ran smoothly. The venue has several mini locations and hidden spots within it, which allowed us to take our guests on a scenic journey – from canapés in the rose garden to dancing in the marquee – and provided the perfect backdrop for photographs. From the beautiful scenery to the incredibly helpful and friendly staff, it was a day we will never forget! Sharon, in particular, was the most amazing coordinator, super efficient, communicative throughout, and just made you feel at ease, calm and supported! Our guests were very complimentary about the food and service. They loved the way the waiters/waitresses came in with the food at the same time for each table, all in sync, was a wonderful touch.
