We are so pleased to have gotten married at Madeira in Fife. We knew we wanted somewhere in the East Neuk (100% the best bit of Scotland!) where we could have a small wedding of around 25 guests, with all of our closest friends and family staying on site and spending quality time together. Madeira was perfect for exactly that. We were fortunate enough to have ideal weather for an outdoor wedding, and the East Neuk certainly didn’t disappoint. There are so many different areas around the grounds to explore and make use of throughout your stay and wedding day, which gave us loads of flexibility in how we wanted to use the venue. Tara and her team put in effort above and beyond what we ever expected. There were also loads of things already available for us to use, including tables, chairs, decorations and even hot tubs, which were a brilliant bonus. The accommodation was another highlight. Everything felt modern, very clean and cosy. The treehouses are obviously a really unique feature, but if you’re worried about some of your guests staying in the cottages instead, don’t be — the cottages are super too! Everyone was comfortable, and having everyone together on site made the whole experience much more special. The venue also worked brilliantly for the different things we wanted to do. We had an outdoor ceilidh on the grounds in the afternoon, and afterwards moved into the Bothy, where a private chef was able to prepare and serve a fantastic five-course meal for all 25 of us. It was great being able to have such different parts of the day all within the venue, and if you’re considering either of these for your own wedding, Madeira can absolutely accommodate them. One of our favourite things about getting married here was how easy it was to make use of everything the East Neuk has to offer. We sourced fresh fruit from Barnsmuir Farm Shop outside Crail, fish and chips from Anstruther Fish Bar, chocolate from the Pittenweem Chocolate Shop, steak pies from Ardross Farm Shop outside St Monans, and pastries from the Elie Deli. Even Majestic Wines in Dundee knew the venue and were able to provide our glasses without any issues. There are so many fantastic local businesses nearby that it made bringing everything together incredibly easy. Tara and her team were responsive, friendly and genuinely supportive throughout the whole process. Even when I threw a few last-minute curveballs her way, she always approached them with a can-do attitude. You might not be able to completely let go of the stress of organising a wedding, but you can have the peace of mind that Tara can handle it! In terms of value for money, we honestly feel we found the perfect sweet spot. For two nights and three days with all of our friends and family, the quality of the accommodation, the beautiful grounds, and the amount of care, work and support from Tara and her team, it felt like exceptional value. The best thing for us was being able to have everyone stay together for the whole experience. It meant the wedding didn’t have to end when the wedding day did. The following morning we were able to have brunch together, catch up properly, talk about the day before and gradually say our goodbyes rather than everyone disappearing at the end of the night. Those two nights and three days gave us proper quality time with the people closest to us and made the whole thing feel lik
