From the very first stages of planning right through to the big day itself, the entire team were exceptional. Everything was handled so smoothly and professionally, which allowed us to truly relax and enjoy every moment. Holmes Mill was the most perfect venue for our wedding and we honestly couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From start to finish, the whole experience was incredible. Sam and Jesse, our wedding co‑ordinators, were absolutely brilliant throughout the planning process — supportive, friendly, and always quick to communicate. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they made everything feel calm and organised. On the day itself, Gemma, the function manager, was fantastic. She kept everything running smoothly, checked in with us at all the right moments, and made sure the day flowed exactly as it should. We felt completely looked after. The Cotton Room was a beautiful setting for our ceremony, and the Bistro was perfect for our reception and evening celebrations. The food was delicious and lived up to every expectation. All the staff we encountered were professional, warm, and genuinely helpful — even down to Dawn on reception, who was lovely with our guests. The only small suggestion we’d make is around the room allocation process, as it caused a bit of confusion and could lead to guests paying more than necessary. It was resolved in the end, but allowing guests to book their own rooms might avoid this for future weddings. Even with that, we would stil

Holmes Mill is just the perfect venue for a wedding. It has a little bit of everything and suits so many different tastes, all at a reasonable price. We had the most perfect day and the venue really is what made that for us. We fell in love with Holmes Mill as soon as we viewed it. There was no doubt in our mind that it was everything we wanted in a venue. We sat down with the team and prices up everything we wanted. We went all out at first thinking we can then take things off if we need to for the purpose of our budget… we didn’t need to!! We requested the cotton room for the ceremony, the Bistro for everything else, hired the bowling alley for the room turn around, DJ package with Exceed events, multiple menu and drinks choices, you name it we added it. They could not have been more flexible and accommodating. The total price coming in below £10,000 for everything we wanted literally knocked us off our feet. It was a no brainer! If you want a bit of everything at your wedding and aren’t a fan of the traditional country house vibes, then this venue is for you. We made a full weekend of it, hired the chimney room the night before with our friends and family and even hired the penthouse for an extra night after. Holmes mill were just incredible!! From looking round to even after the wedding date they were nothing short of amazing! Their communication was brilliant and the venue its self is breathtakingly stunning. The wedding coordinator - Sam was brilliant!! Little things that you don’t even consider before the day were already done and his attention to detail and support throughout the day was exceptional!! The hotel was stunning and the hotel staff were amazing at moving belongings and ensuring all our personal items were moved to the pent house the day of the wedding. The food: One of the selling points for us was the food menu - the temple of beer buffet was exceptional. The food was beautiful and portion sizes were perfect! The pie factory for the evening reception was a massive hit with the guests and the pies were delicious.

We loved our wedding at Holmes Mill and so did our guests! The team were really helpful in the lead up to the wedding. We had our evening in the Bistro and got so many compliments on how beautiful it looked. The day ran incredibly smoothly, the master of ceremonies did a fantastic job and apart from giving some easy instructions for decor the day before, the whole day was managed and taken care of for us as we didn’t have to worry once. We got married at Holmes Mill and had the most wonderful day from start to finish. All the wedding team we dealt with were fantastic and although they seem to have a high turnover (we dealt with 4 different people in our 10 months of planning) it all came together well and we are very grateful to them for their help. We really can’t stress that enough. There are however, two things that did put a dampener it things for us. Firstly was the hotel. We had family who were travelling from several hours away and wanted to book their rooms upon receiving their save the date. This wasn’t allowed and we were told to wait for a new booking link that was being implemented in the next few weeks. This went on for months before we were eventually helped by one of the wedding planners to just secure rooms via a spreadsheet. There is also an issue that the wedding rate was significantly dearer than the rate people could get my booking themselves online. But they were discouraged from doing this as part of your wedding package is an agreement to book 20 rooms at the wedding rate. Example, several of my party stayed the night prior at the wedding rate of £135 but when one turned up on the day without a booking they were offered a rate of £85. This really needs rectifying as at all other venues wedding rates are usually discounted rates not inflated. Parking is also an issue. The venue cover the cost of 48 hours parking but they don’t save you a space. As such we turned up on our wedding day and couldn’t park. My photographer ended up giving me her space and my partner had to double park, blocking me in, as the car park was that full.
