Grittenham Barn

What an absolutely beautiful venue, ran by equally beautiful people - we had the best weekend ever. Reasons why this venue is perfect: 1. You get the barn from 9am the day before the wedding, we had the best day setting up with our family and friends, and making it so personal to us. 2. There's 2 little cottages onsite (sleep 2 people each), off the main wedding court yard. It was so lovely staying on site. We stayed an extra night after the wedding, and it was so lovely to sit in the court yard and reminisce. 3. You have to choose from a recommended list of caterers but there's over 10, catering for a variety of budgets. No caterers are allowed to charge a corkage, this is something the owners have agreed with them. This was a lovely touch and saved us alot of money. 4. There's never more than one wedding a weekend. We loved this part as it wasn't like a conveyor belt wedding. 5. Charlie who runs the evening bar, was such a great help on the day to coordinate suppliers as they turned up. 6. You can really make your wedding your own with this venue. We had a BBQ, ice cream van and a crepe van for evening food. 7. There's 2 Donkeys which live right next to the barn. Adorable! Also pigs and goats, which the kids loved. 8. You can get married indoors or outdoors. We can not recommend this venue more. Such lovely owners and co-ordinators. Wow, I'm not even sure where to begin. From the very first moment we walked in to Grittenham Barn and the warm relaxed welcome we got from Nicola, we both immediately turned to one another and said "This is the place". Every single contact made, every single visit was completely effortless. Every question and queries asked were answered immediately. From the set up the day before to Charlie running the actual day was completely seamless. Mark taking us over to the field in the Land Rover to get some beautiful golden hour shots was above and beyond expectation. We were incredibly lucky to have a glorious day and I'm pretty sure every single guest asked "Where did you find this place?" 🙂 You truly made our dream wedding Flawless. What an amazing location and team at Grittenham barn. Thank you so much to Katherine, Charlie the property owners and the rest of the team- you did an amazing job to make our day so special. Throughout the planning process Katherine was incredibly flexible in discussing elements to do with the wedding and open to site visits when needed. They had the grounds looking absolutely stunning come our wedding day which made an incredible back drop for all our gorgeous photos. We nearly had a slight hiccup with a particular supplier but the team went into battle for us to smooth everything out. They did everything they could to ensure we had the best day with no stress. Charlie was great on the day as well making sure everything was running smoothly and the bridal party were supported. We also hired the two cottages on site which were perfect for the bridal party to stay in and meant a very relaxed morning getting up and getting ready - a truely beautiful place to be! The welcome from Katherine and Jeannine was brilliant, the cottage was lovely, Paul was lovely too. Jeannine was super for the whole time we were there too, nothing was too much trouble and she was always willing to help. It was lovely. We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you (and Grittenham). The day was an absolute dream and that’s in large part down to the venue and the suppliers you recommended. Paul Fletcher was absolutely incredible! His energy is amazing and he captured so many really beautiful moments throughout the day. We would recommend him to anyone and everyone! Frankie and the team were amazing too. Our timings went pretty off track and they were brilliant and really flexible. All our guests raved about the food (including the horseradish!) and they did an awesome job with everything from the drinks, to food, to moving the chairs and tables. We got married here in May 2015. The venue is absolutely beautiful, with the two barn areas for the ceremony and reception, and even some pigs and a couple of donkeys! Katherine and the team could not have been more helpful, with all the little attention to details - from the fairy lights around the beams and behind the registrar table, the outside bistro seating and lighting in the evening, to the in house bar from Grittenham Bar Company, it was the perfect day! I'd highly recommended booking this venue for a rustic, barn wedding as you can decorate it to suit your own theme (we went for a vintage 1950s wedding with bunting draped around the eves and old family photos hung on the walls). Two years on now and the memories are still as fresh - we'd do it all over again in a heartbeat and wouldn't change a thing :-)
