Ghan House in Medieval Carlingford is an eighteenth century Georgian country house set within walled grounds where exclusive use of the whole house and grounds makes for an ideal Wedding & Civil Ceremony venue. Ghan House is available for exclusive use for your wedding - the whole house & gardens ~ which means, no other guests apart from your own! We have beautiful views of Slieve Foy, the Mountains of Mourne & Carlingford Lough - from the gardens, all the public rooms & 4* bedrooms. In addition we have 8 ft high stone walls enclosing the gardens, adding to the privacy & uniqueness. Our head chef Stephane was awarded 2 AA Rosettes for the restaurant and has maintained them since 2011. I n addition Ghan House was the all Ireland winner of the AA 'Guest Accommodation of the Year 2020'. The bedrooms have been selected by John & Sally McKenna's ' Best 100 Places to stay in Ireland ' every year since 1998. The Ghan House alternative to the big hotel function room makes for a very intimate and sociable wedding where food is just as important as the venue! Eco economy - All of the bedrooms at Ghan House - their heating & hot water are powered by 2 air source heat pumps. The water from the roof of the main house feed into the pond. KG of CO2 has been reduced by 61% 2017 v 2024. Kitchen waste is utilised to make compost, plastic, paper, card & glass are all recycled as is kitchen oil. The kitchen is 100% induction.
