My daughter and fiancee married at Cooling Castle wedding venue on 8 April 2026 . From pre-planning in March 2025 , to the day itself, the services , organisation and choices were brilliantly managed. On the day, a few things required adjusting but this was no trouble at all . The menu choices were all tasty and well considered, the food was delivered hot and on time to 50 people . The evening events were great fun and the whole room was dancing . A very big shout-out thank you to Becky and her team that day. I am certain your warm way, attention to detail, flexibility where needed and awareness of the wedding procedure itself all contributed to a feeling we were in capable hands and this helped family and friends from both bride and groom families to blend and mix in a lovely, relaxed way . We couldn’t have asked for a better venue than Cooling Castle Barn for our wedding. From start to finish, everything was seamless. The getting-ready room was spacious, calm, and relaxed, with plenty of food provided for the bridal party, which made the morning so enjoyable and stress-free. Holly, the morning duty manager, was absolutely incredible — so helpful, attentive, and genuinely lovely. Julie, our toastmaster, was amazing and guided the day perfectly. Ollie, the duty manager, was also great, and honestly, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The whole team worked together to make the day run smoothly. Just want to start by saying a massive thank you to Cooling Castle Barn and all of the staff (especially Becky) for a perfect wedding, we had an amazing time. From the beginning they were just on it, with every little question I had, which when you're stressing about getting married is exactly what you need! They were super responsive and really made us feel like they had everything under control, they covered every base and made sure the day ran smoothly and was personalized to exactly what we wanted. The barns themselves are really beautiful, and we were lucky enough to have the Christmas decorations up, which were really tasteful and not too over the top (which is something we were concerned about). The whole day ran so smoothly, they took great care to ensure we were both happy, in the right place at the right time but yet didn’t bother us too much and let us enjoy the moment. We both really felt like they had everything under control, to the point where we could just relax and trust the process. Literally cannot fault ANYTHING. The venue is stunning, the staff are amazing, and every minor detail is covered. You're looked after by duty managers throughout the day; they set up and set down all your decorations; they coordinate with your suppliers; you have getting ready rooms included; the packages include literally anything and everything you could need; they feed you lots of snacks and booze throughout the day to calm the nerves; you're treated like a VIP... Firstly, the castle, barns and gardens are beautiful. We were so happy with how everything looked. But my god, the food, music and staff communication were awful, as was the response from management when raising our concerns. The food was overcooked at tasteless. The halloumi was black and the chocolate tarte couldn't be cut with a knife and fork as the base was rock hard. The music quality was awful. Very quiet (which we were told there was a noise limiter) but when people were singing- not even very loudly may I add, you couldn't hear the music. Which was probably just as well because it sounded like we were in a tin can. Even guests mentioned it to us which was super embarrassing. My sister raised this with the evening venue coordinator who said "there's an ongoing issue with it and management are aware". Would have been nice to be told that before booking... There were communication issue throughout. We had: - Lactose-free cupcakes that didn't go out - Cupcake boxes so guests could take cake home that didn't go out - Issues with our bar tab so some people paid for drinks when the tab was still open - I wasn't on the dance floor for the start of tje father-daughter dance as they started the music during my cake cutting I was also asked questions throughout the whole evening so was hard to relax, and whilst all my guests were queuing to my goodbye to me, I got asked to go and get my card to put it behind the bar to pay off the bar tab therefore there were guests I didn't get to say goodbye to. On contacting management they pretty much denied what I had raised, took no responsibility and basically said so

Cooling Castle Barn really was our perfect wedding venue. We fell in love instantly and it was the only venue we looked at for our wedding and booked immediately before we even left! The price of the venue and what is included is incredible, it was worth every single penny and we’d highly recommend. Every single staff member we came into contact with couldn’t have helped enough! What a fantastic venue to be married. Myself and all the guests were blown away with the beauty and character of Coolings barn. The staff were excellent,polite, friendly and willing to help anyway they could. I couldn't fault a thing. Thankyou for an excellent and memorable day for my son Michael and his new wife Lisa.
