We had our wedding at Coolbawn Quay in September this year. One of the main things we wanted was a venue that would have enough accommodation for 100 guests and one we could have exclusively for the weekend.When we were searching, we found it really hard to find venues that were a little bit different and would accommodate all of our guests. After a lot of searching we came across Coolbawn Quay. The setting itself is beautiful and it’s unique, personal and we found that the majority of our guests were very taken with it and commented on how lovely it was over the weekend.The staff are fantastic. They are just so friendly and helpful, they all made us feel really at home and welcomed. They are so professional and they make everything on the day run like clockwork. Rob and his kitchen staff are amazing, they catered for everything we wanted, and the food from the canapés to the main meal and the BBQ the day after were all exceptional.Grainne is amazingly helpful, she was so efficient and professional in dealing with every single one of our emails, queries and requests and we had a good few! Like many other people have mentioned, we were quite anxious about how we were going to allocate the houses for our guests, trying to group people who maybe don’t know each other was a challenge but Grainne is extremely patient as I’m sure we sent her more than a few last minute changes to the plan. Celebrating our first week married today and what a day and night we had at Coolbawn! Where do we start! The whole experience from when we first met Terry and Ann last October to the final farewells last Saturday was so welcoming, warm and professional. Coolbawn Quay is a location that is entirely unique - the smiling staff, setting, scenery, accommodation and marquee are second to none. Grainne and Catherine helped in organizing all the details throughout the planning and they were very reassuring. They really could not do enough for us to ensure we and our guests had an amazing day. Margaret's proactive nature on the day regarding guests needs ensured that no stone was left unturned and her attention to detail with the table flower arranging was creatively impressive. With over 170 guests we are still hearing back from them about the wonderful food and wine as well as the helpful and smiling staff. There was plenty of opportunities to add our own personal stamp and it was never any trouble. The team at Coolbawn helped us create a unique experience for our wedding, family and guests that we will never forget. A big thank you to them all and also to Grainne in particular for her patience and positive attitude in finding solutions to problems we created! We had our wedding reception in Coolbawn Quay in July and it was absolutely spectacular from start to finish. The venue, the staff, the service, the food, the accommodation and the weather was superb. It is a fantastic location with so many beautiful backdrops to choose from for your photos. From the moment we went to see Coolbawn we just fell in love with it and there was absolutely no question where we were having our wedding reception. The whole day was so relaxed and all our guests were looked after so well by all the staff. From the moment we set foot in Coolbawn Quay, we knew we were somewhere special. It has this way of transporting you into this beautiful relaxed state of mind, where life slows down and you just appreciate the beauty that is all around you. The location just speaks for itself, it needs no fancy explanation or exaggeration... once you visit, you will know what I mean, and feel privileged to have stumbled upon this hidden little gem by the Shannon. Our wedding day was just perfect, the sun shone,with a small shower or two but no one seemed to care or mind. We held our ceremony and later our first dance on the deck....both, a surreal and beautiful experience. Last month we got married in Coolbawn Quay and I couldn't recommend it highly enough as a venue! We had the most amazing weekend, as did all our friends and family. The venue is just beautiful, and the service from beginning to end was the best I've ever had. From the planning to the actual day and the day afterwards, everything was perfect! So many of our friends who were at the wedding have now decided that this is where they want to get married! The food on both days was superb. For our wedding banquet we went for the relaxed affair, which was a luxury barbeque, and everyone commented on how delicious it was, a lot managed to squeeze in seconds also! The marquee on the day looked perfect, and was completely decorated by the venue other than some wedding favour’s that we added ourselves. On the second day we had a mild chicken curry, with freshly baked breads, salads and rice, which again was wonderful. Rob the chef is fantastic! The entire team in Coolbawn became like family over the weekend, I cannot stress the personal touch that goes hand in hand with your wedding in Coolbawn, and makes it so wonderful. The fact that the village is exclusively yours for the weekend, for your friends and family is such a bonus. If anyone is looking for a place to get married that is magical, Coolbawn is it. Great food and service, beautiful accommodation, and a venue that creates a beautiful, fun and unforgettable atmosphere. We'll never be able to thank you all enough!
