Everything about Clearwell went above and beyond my expectations! From the professionalism, service, flexibility with changes and demands, quality of upkeep, and food - I have nothing but positive things to say from me and all my guests who attended. My wedding planner, Jo was so kind and accommodating, and her calm and positive demeanour was really nice to have around as a steadiness to the emotional rollercoaster I had on the day. She took care of all the boring planning and logistics like food, vendors, and clean up; whereas we took care of all the fun. I felt stress free on the day and never had any problems with where guests would go, when food was served, and moving things around the castle. We had the best wedding day at Clearwell. Every detail was fantastic - from the accommodation to the decoration to the food. We got countless guest compliments on the quality of the food & drinks, and unexpected highlight was the evening fish and chip buffet which was incredible! The venue is absolutely stunning and made a dramatic backdrop for pictures. We chose Clearwell Castle because not only is it an absolutely stunning venue inside and out, but it offers so much value for money! We booked the classical package which was for 60 guests, although we didn’t have 60 guests, Clearwell were flexible and still gave us extra food and the correct number of drinks to reflect the number we’d paid for. There are a variety of extra add ons that make the day fun, we bought the sweet cart and mini golf which gave our guests so much to do. We also bought the inside aisle package which was easier for us and made the ballroom look even more beautiful and ceremony / wedding breakfast ready with very little effort from us. The food was delicious and there was so much of it, nobody was left hungry! The day ran smoothly because of our fantastic wedding manager Rosie! Rosie was calm, organised and listened to what we wanted and made it happen. We got married at Clearwell Castle on 27th June 2026 and can honestly say it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was somewhere special. The castle itself is stunning, with beautiful grounds, incredible ceremony spaces and a real sense of occasion that made our wedding feel magical from start to finish. What truly sets Clearwell apart is the team. Every member of staff was professional, organised, friendly and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. The planning process was seamless, and on the day itself everything ran like clockwork. We felt completely relaxed knowing we were in such capable hands. Our guests were blown away by the venue. I cannot rate this venue and it's team on site highly enough. All of our guests commented on how professional, friendly and all round super stars the staff were throughout our day. They made sure everything ran smoothly and I no issues or stress were bought to me. Ann my wedding manager was an absolute superstar! Nothing was an issue and she kept the day flowing and guests informed. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, our guests were totally overwhelmed by the beauty of the castle and grounds. Our wedding took place in the middle of a heatwave and was around 32-34degrees. Our ceremony was outside and the venue did everything to keep guests comfortable, we sat them literally as we were about to start so they could stay in the shade, they let them retreat to shade during the signing of certificates and just got them back for our exit. We had water stations all around the venue and we'd provided guests with paper fans. The venue and it's accomodation doesn't have any Aircon, it did get quite warm indoors but we had all windows and doors open and guests managed many just needed to step out from time to time. We had our big day on 7th May 2026. The venue was stunning and although it looked as though the forcast was not on our side, we managed to get married outdoors. The staff were lovely and supportive throughout. Although some additional items can be pricey, they are very accomodating in bringing your own decor to the venue. I made our table centrepieces, signage etc. and the staff are happy to set all of these up. The food was lovely and we had many compliments from guests. We had guests also state that it was the best wedding they have ever attended with one stating that because their children were talking about how it was the best day of their lives that it is actually sad that nothing is likely to measure up which is a massive compliment to not just ourselves but also the venue and how hard they worked. Our wedding at Clearwell was pure happiness. We booked the Wyndham for the night before (Friday) so it meant we had the whole weekend with our loved ones. Booking with Ashleigh was simple and no question or request was ever stupid or too big. We wish we could do it all over again. It’s the most gorgeous venue and the grounds are stunning and well kept.
