The entire venue is so idyllic. We were lucky to have a warm summer's day and had our ceremony on the lovely lawn by the Thames. The great hall is a lovely setting for the meal, and the building has so much history, making it feel very unique. Our guests were also able to relax by the river as the sun went down with a bottle of wine. The staff were very attentive, and the whole day felt very relaxed. We got married at Bisham Abbey on Sat 25th May 24. Melissa and her team at Bisham Abbey helped to make our whole day so special, we can't thank them enough. It was just perfect. We also had the perfect weather which was amazing too, so our ceremony was outside by the Thames just as we wanted, but plan B (inside in The Warwick Room) would have also been beautiful too, and that's why we picked Bisham Abbey, because we had a fantastic back up plan. Bisham Abbey is the perfect place for your wedding. From beginning to the end, our wedding coordinator Melissa was absolutely brilliant. I was a very nervous bride, and she made me feel relaxed and reassured me in every way possible. The food was incredible, the service excellent, infact the whole day was just perfect. The venue was sensational - a beautiful historic building, with so much character, while being brilliantly maintained and equipped for modern use and events. We made full use of all the rooms, each with their own personality and fitting each stage of our event: Dinner in the Great Hall, Dancing in the Warwick Room, Reception in the garden and bar in the Margaret Dickinson suite, with snacks and cake in the Sonning room. We chose Bisham Abbey as we wanted to get married by the river as it meant something to us personally so Bisham Abbey felt like a natural choice. Melissa was so welcoming on our initial visit and answered all our questions including coming up with options such as an outside ceremony and allowing us to bring our dog for our ceremony on the day which was important to us. Throughout the planning process Melissa and Georgia were always approachable, so quick to reply and were always available for multiple meetings which was reassuring and calming. The tasting trial was incredible and gave us such joy in preparation for the day and excitement. We were able to come the day before to set up and Melissa was on hand for all questions and worries. The day of the wedding it was pouring with rain but Georgia was available from the beginning of the day helping with our vendors and providing anything we needed. Thankfully it stopped raining 20 minutes before the ceremony and we still had our outside ceremony under a marquee with outside canapes! The staff were incredible, the food was amazing, the transformation for the dancefloor created such an atmosphere for our evening party that our guests were blown away. Melissa and Georgia were incredible throughout the process - so efficient and helpful. The venue itself is beautiful with incredible history and a lovely setting right on the river. It's also great that it has various different rooms for different things so people can find a quiet corner if they want to. Also pretty convenient for lots of people to get to, both from London and from the West of the country. The day itself went so smoothly, nothing was too much trouble and the special touches were brilliant. For instance a few people asked for non alcoholic substitutes for the toast and this was done straight away and the cake for the evening food was arranged beautifully. The food generally was incredible! So many people commented on it. We found that they were so much more flexible than most wedding venues - as long as we asked and agreed on things in advance, they were brilliant. We had our wonderful wedding reception here at Bisham Abbey on 22nd July 2023 for 95 people, and we had the best day ever. The venue is absolutely stunning and we have had many compliments about it since. We had the wedding breakfast in the magnificent Great Hall which looks stunning in our photos. We were very thankful we chose this specific venue as it caters for all weather, which was handy when it rained on our wedding day. The Margaret Dickinson and Sonning rooms were invaluable when our outdoors drinks reception on the lawn was not possible due to the rain. The photos show the character of the rooms in the Abbey and it was brilliant that we could use all the rooms throughout our day, from the Elizabethan room for bridal prep and the Warwick room for our evening food. The lawn and beautiful backdrop of the river made it perfect for our wedding day, as we arrived from the Church by boat, despite the weather! The sports centre is only a 2-minute walk away made overnight accommodation for our guests easy and convenient, with good quality rooms and buffet breakfast. The food was amazing, we chose the beef, but some of our guests had the seabass and vegan options which they also enjoyed. Throughout our wedding planning process both Melissa and Georgia were fantastic. From meeting Melissa at an open-day, we were immediately impressed with her friendly yet professional attitude and helpful nature in comparison to other venue organisers we had spoken with. This is what gave us the confidence to make a booking the following week. Melissa was fantastic at answering all our questions and brilliant at giving us advice about some of those pre-wedding decisions. Melissa and Georgia went out of their way to accommodate our wishes for our big day but also provided their honest guidance and advice from their vast experience of planning weddings with other couples to make sure our day was perfect. Georgia was exceptional at keeping the day on plan. She is such an approachable but also professional person with impeccable organisational skills, particularly when leading her team during the wedding breakfast service. Many of our guests even complimented her on what an amazing job she was doing on the day itself. We would whole heartedly recommended Bisham Abbey as a wedding venue to anyone, honestly the best venue and the best team to host your wedding. We had our wedding here on the 17th September 2022. Our wedding planner found Bisham Abbey for us after us not feeling comfortable with another venue we had booked. We are so glad she suggested Bisham as as soon as we met with Melissa we felt completely at ease and nothing ever seemed liked too much to ask.
