Avalen is absolutely beautiful in itself; rustic, quiet, relaxed, quality, inviting, and set amongst beautiful countryside at the foot of Helman's tour. The team went out of their way to make sure the grounds and venue were all set up perfectly. The cart house is well laid out and has everything you need to prepare. But aside from all of that, most importantly, the team planned everything so that we could relax and enjoy our perfect day (and it really really was perfect). The food was delicious, the wine well chosen, the decor was delightful and the team couldn't do enough to make sure everything went smoothly, including organising some surprises for me from my parents and my husband. Honestly, there is nothing to fault - it is the finishing touches which were so special and the care that was taken to ensure we could just enjoy ourselves with our guests. Everything about Avalen as a venue was literally perfect from start to finish. This is such a special family owned and run business is a real jewel in the crown of wedding venues in Cornwall. When we initially booked a viewing, contacting the team was so simple and we would get email replies within hours and not weeks like some! Nothing was too much trouble with days and timings and who we could bring and how many times we could view. We felt no pressure to commit to anything and all of our questions were answered from day one. The price was so reasonable, again, compared to other venues of this scale in Cornwall it was an incredible price. The venue itself is so beautiful, if it's a natural, rustic barn style wedding you are after but with onsite accommodation and all the mod cons then this is the one for you! The bridal suite (house!) Is absolutely stunning with loads of space for all your crew and the most stunning roman bathtub. It's also mere feet away from the ceremony room so no travel required! in the lead up and on the day, nothing was too much trouble and everything was completely seamless. We were having some issues with my entrance music because it was a song on YouTube rather than Spotify but the team sorted it and sorted the timing as if it was nothing and it went perfectly. They worked seamlessly with our hired suppliers, they have a huge professional catering kitchen on site and the grounds of the venue are huge with loading entrances and doors for equipment and decor load and unload. So much parking as well as additional accommodation you can book offsite for your guests and they run a shuttle bus for us to and from the venue so everyone could relax and enjoy. We knew straight away it was the right place for us to be married in, from the amazing location, Fantastic renovations and general attention to the smallest details.
