I had a reasonably positive first appointment trying dresses on here from the sample sale. The staff pulled out dresses in styles I liked and initially the experience felt helpful. However, looking back, I left feeling disappointed overall. One issue was the dress fabric. I chose a dress which, only later, I realised is extremely unforgiving and shows creasing very easily. Even after multiple steams it still appears crinkled. I appreciate that fabric preference is subjective and ultimately the choice was mine, but as bridal staff work with these dresses every day, I do feel this characteristic could have been pointed out during the appointment. I was deciding between two dresses and that information may genuinely have influenced my decision. My second concern was sizing. The sample dress I purchased appeared to be significantly larger than the usual recommended alteration range. When I later queried this, I was told the size had been recorded incorrectly and was actually smaller than first stated, which left me feeling uncertain and less confident in the process.
