I’m also a musician, having played piano and keyboards since the age of 6 🎹. I’ve always had an ear for a hit and, over the years, I’ve built up a huge musical repertoire through residencies spanning an extraordinary range of genres, from ’70s funk, ’80s disco, Motown and Northern Soul to house, trance, drum ’n’ bass, indie, rock, UK garage, hip hop, R&B and Old Skool. 🎶 That experience taught me how to read a crowd, follow the energy and find the records that bring everyone together. 🕺 It’s that ability to connect with people through music that helped me become the most-booked DJ in the UK for two years running ⭐. As well as hosting weekly shows on the BBC, I’ve also hosted takeovers with Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1, Theo Johnson on 1Xtra, outside broadcasts from the Hay Festival with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, and Lakefest at Eastnor Castle on BBC 6 Music. For nearly a decade, I chose every single song you heard on my local BBC station, from breakfast to drivetime, sport to the gardening phone-in! 🎶. That instinct for new music has seen me champion some remarkable artists early on, including Ellie Goulding, Becky Hill and 220 Kid, helping give them the confidence to keep pursuing their dreams. All three went on to achieve major chart success. ⭐ I perform hundreds of shows every year, from Ibiza clubs to village halls 🏘️, French châteaux to pub beer gardens 🍻, London riverboat cruises to countryside barn dances 🤠, major sporting events to Wookey Hole Caves 🦇, beach parties to in-store gigs 🛍️, summer festivals to Christmas light switch-ons 🎄✨. ✨ What makes my DJ sets unique: 🎥 Video DJing – I mix live visuals with the music, creating a show that looks as good as it sounds. Expect music videos, slideshows, animations and effects on big screens for a fully immersive show. While many people may be in love with their 55" flatscreen, I tour with two that are 3 metres wide! 🎤 Live Musicians – As a musician, I regularly perform with sax, vocals, percussion and even walk the dancefloor playing synths myself. Imagine your favourite anthem performed live on top of a DJ set. I often have conversations with clients who are not sure whether to book a DJ or a band. I'm able to offer the perfect hybrid - performing non-stop, without breaks in the music (and most importantly - in the set) while bringing a combination of singers and musicians on-and-off stage to perform live. Having been at the helm of BBC Music Introducing since 2005, I'm in no shortage of finding the very best talent. ⚡ Signature Sound - Music is my job. I listen to more than 400 new tracks every week, so discovering music isn't something I do in my spare time. It's what I do every day. I call my best discoveries my "secret weapons" - tracks that will blow the roof off any venue. My sets combine floor-filling anthems with hidden gems, alongside my own high-energy mashups, bootlegs and remixes that you won't hear anywhere else. On the night, he was incredibly flexible, accommodating guest requests while keeping the dancefloor moving. He also went above and beyond to help us integrate a special video message from Billy Boyd (Pippin from Lord of the Rings) into the evening, which was a highlight of the night. On top of that, Andrew helped us coordinate a massive crowd-hype sequence involving CO2 guns! It turned the night into an absolute party. Professional, kind, and highly skilled. We panicked and created a 7-hour playlist, but ultimately encouraged Andrew to use it as influence for our very varied tastes in music, and he smashed it out of the park using initiative and feeling the crowd response. There were even songs remixed with different genres, which were a hit. You had everyone on the dance floor from start to finish and seamlessly changed songs if you felt one song wasn't getting the attention it needed. His vast experience within the industry including BBC/festivals is apparent. His setup was very professional and the performance was so much more than your standard wedding DJ. He was able to adjust the music real-time to the crowds needs, enabling the party to continue for as long as possible. He was also happy to take requests which is great for some guests. He read the vibe of the room and my guests and played banger after banger, often tracks I was thinking of requesting. The dancefloor was never empty and I had so many people compliment him. I only wish I had another event to hire him for. A great added touch he came out to the floor and played live keyboard. Made the wedding what it was. Couldn’t have been happier! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I'd get married twice, just to have Andrew DJ for us again!" - Andrew was (TWO) hands down the best DJ we could have possibly hired for our wedding. He was, to put it simply, a legend. He had great communication, was able to keep the crowd (old and young) dancing all night long. What a guy!
